Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well I wanted to share this real quick. I purchased this car sight unseen (90k miles) in January from across the country with only a normal PPI . When I got the car it wasnt terrible but it was worn out. Interior was cracked and worn, had a CEL needed pretty much every wearable part from suspension, brakes, clutch, fluids you name it. When I got it there were some electrical issues with the headlights and fans up front. So I began to dig into it and found that the car had been in a transformation, a 2002 C4S donor car was used for the front end, rear end, lights and suspension. In making all that work they actually cut the harnesses and used hot glue to hold the connections together, inside the headlight connections as well. I was shocked. So long story short I ripped all the harnesses out from the whole front end and had new ones made to accommodate the Litronic xeon lights, and get everything working on the fans and air temp sensor. What a pain in the butt. It was alot of work but so worth it. I worked many long nights getting this all fixed, from buffing and polishing the paint to doing electrical repairs. 💪 But... I am having a problem with my new suspension tho. If someone can explain why now that I have installed a bilstein b8 with H&R lowering springs the car begins to float after 80mph. It feels very loose. Is there a way to tighten that up and get it feeling good again? Im guessing some sway bars are whats needed. But I would like to understand whats actually happening to cause the feeling I have and then resolve the problem. Thanks for the help. Here are some photos of my project that brought back this car and it now looks amazing. POST 2Original post

Is the floaty feeling attributable to both ends of the car? Or only the front, like the steering becomes vague? Did you install the H&R and B8 yourself? If so, what did you do about the bump stops?

POST 4Original post

In addition, how about what tires your are running, tire sizes and tire pressures?

POST 5Original post

Lowering changes the wheel alignment front and rear. Front goes from toe-in to zero toe or even a little toe out and that's what you're noticing, most probably. Get an alignment and the car should drive as you expect. (How old are your tyres?)

POST 6Original post

A proper alignment makes a world of difference.

Car is looking great. What coating did you use on your brake calipers to paint them blue?
