Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have recently purchased a very low mileage (6,000), '99 C4 Carrera Cabriolet and noticed a few marks on the opening levers for the engine bay and front, from getting in and out of the car. This seemed to be common with all models I looked at, so not too worried, however would like to know how to clean them up. Are they made of aluminum ?? Any sucessful ideas ? I note the newer models have changed the design also. Thanks

POST 2Original post

Must be a common problem. Just had mine replaced today under warrenty. The bonnet one was scuffed so bad there was no paint left on the corner of it. Just purchased the car recently with 25000 on it. The dealer left clear plastic cover on the releases. I think I may leave it there until I am used to carefully getting in and out of the car.

POST 3Original post

Just happened to notice you are in England. Spent two weeks there in London and the Lakes region. Fantastic country and I saw many Porsches in London, all parked on the streets and many quity dirty!! Had beautiful weather and took many walks in the morning. COuld not help but notice all the Porsches there.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi there Aero 996 !!! London's a cool place, especially for Porsches, Ferrari's, Lambo's and Aston Martin's - if your in the right area. The problem is never being able to drive over 40 mph, the traffic is a nightmare like most capital and major cities. As for the lakes, some good roads and country side. I hope to get up there in next year in my new 996.As for the marks on the lever I will ask for the dealer to deal with these when I take the car in next, thanks for your help.
