Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello everyone,
I gathered the 'kids in the block' and check the results!!
WE REMOVED ALL THE WHEELS AND CLEANED THE RIMS AND THE INNER ARCHES (THAT'S ME WITH THE KIDS)
THAT IS AFTER I GATHERED ALL THE KIDS AND ARMED THEM WITH THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT!
TALK ABOUT CHILD LABOUR AND ABUSE!!! (HE LOVES DOING THAT!)
AND THERE YOU GO, THE FINAL RESULT OF 21 KID-HOURS (OF COURSE WITH ME IN COMMAND)!

Looks like a lot of fun, my two boys love "helping" me wash mine every weekend. Have you considered polishing your exhaust tips, they look pretty dark in the pics. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />
Don't forget that those wheels need to be put back on using a torque wrench. 130 Nm I believe.
I would have expected your car to have been a European model but I can see that it originally came from the USA. Humm .... maybe you should post the VIN number and see if anyone here recognises it?
Just joking. Really beautiful car Waz!!! Well worth the effort to get the mechanicals sorted out. Hopefully you will have it for a very long time. It must be like driving a space chip in Nigeria.

Thanks for comments!
Doug, I'll try common household chrome/silver polish, you think it'll work??
S, as for a torque wrench i have four words for you: Welcome To The Jungle!
BUT: let's analyze this for a moment, 130Nm means 13 kg for a meter long lever, or ~35kg for the ~25cm length of the stock wrench i have... let's call the kids, see whose weight is the closest, let him step on the wrench and that solves it!
Indeed it is a the BattleStar Galagtica everytime i am on the streets! Some people here start tap-dancing when they see me pass!!

One more tip: watching the kid fling the chamois or cloth at the top...with the wipers in open position...you are asking for major damage there.
When you get to this point (assuming it's drying the vehicle, not washing), close the wipers against the glass to avoid snapping them against the painted hood.
Nice car.

Waz,
If you can get a Porker 996 to Nigeria then surely you can get a torque wrench? These cars require careful care else you will end up with more work, not less.
Available from Machinemart in the UK for 17.57

And I've seen the same thing under a different brand name in the USA for US$10 (Harbour Freight I think it was).
Perfect for tightening wheel nuts.

Wael,
I used a Scotch Brite pad followed by Grade 000 Steel wool, then some metal polish. I think the Steel wool was more effective than the Scotch Brite pad which may be hard to find outside the US.The whole process takes about 20 minutes and the tail pipes will look 100% better.
Have fun! <img src="graemlins/drink.gif" border="0" alt="[cherrsagai]" />
Thanks everyone,
I used metal polish and it really did some difference.. I think with a few more applications, it will come back normal.
As for the torque wrench, thx for tip i'll try to order one.

Neat thread, gave me good memories of when my goddaughter lived in town. She always loves to help my clean 'the porkchop'. Somehow always manages to get soaking wet head to toe...
You did a better job of recruitment than me. Did you load them all up for a ride afterwards?
Oh, below: she wasn't allowed to go out barefoot for a photo, and her shoes were soaked (go figure), so those are my size 10 1/2s she's wearing
love the pictures, they remind me of my childhood <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[crying]" />
Wael have a look at the 964 Wide Turbo Look-1992 below, is it worth paying 36,000 EU done 48,000km only with FPSH papers and ducuments.

fadz
Fadi,
It looks wonderful but again a '92 for 36k euro.. I dont know really but if i had to go retro, i'd get the turbo maybe? The red one you sent me the pictures of before was better looking..
