Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm trying to ground the 12v relay for my top Gear valves exhaust. It's a fine black wire, and it's at the rear, near brake lights. Is there somewhere easy to ground it? I tried putting it under the hood hinge base, the back bolt, but it's not working... I'm hoping I can just crimp it to something without having to mess with pins or destroy factory wiring. Some may remember my previous post about MAF sensor and cel, engine going to limp mode caused by a bad solder, the 12v power for the valved switch was done by splicing into the MAF 12v. To solve that I had to take the valve switch out of the picture. The default mode is loud, and the drone on the highway is killing me. Thanks!

POST 2Original post

Any clean bolt will work. There is no dedicated ground by the tail light but the main ground lug is just foward of the muffler on the passenger side. Pull the wheel and u will see the thick wire coming off the motor. I think its a m10 bolt.
