we're going to take the two 911's to Skyline Drive for a nice little run on Friday...
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Holy ****! I just took my dad's new 996 out for an hour or so. He just picked it up this afternoon. This car is amazing. Even without being broken in (haven't gone past 1/2 throttle) I am very impressed. I can't believe I would ever say this... but... Tiptronic is FUN!!
More impressions and pictures to come... we're going to take the two 911's to Skyline Drive for a nice little run on Friday...
WOW!
A few pictures:
What a nice younger sibling for my '73
My 528 is a sweetheart... perfect cruiser. I have the '73 for the weekends and if I have a real urge for power I'll borrow my dad's
The M5 is boring... too big and ponderous. It's like a limo with a jet engine
My next car could possibly be another 911. What series is dependent on my finances in a year or so when I'm looking
Hmmm! Let's see. the 528i and the M5 are aboutthe same size (both limos
)...and one has about twice as much power as the other. It would take me about 3 seconds to decide which one would go.. BUT, maybe you like the color of the 528 better.
I think you should get a good nite's sleep before you decide!

Haha... the M5 is not my car, and I can't afford it even if I wanted to (which I don't).
The 528 suits my purposes well while also being affordable. My dad is the big baller with the new 996... I don't have any money
BTW, the M5 weighs 600lb more than my 528i... you can definitely tell the difference. I prefer the handling of my car
Nick - Tell your dad to order the ROW M030 suspension from Gert at carnewal.com Car will drive far better and the fenders will be filled alot better (lowers 20mm front, 10mm rear). Best thing I ever did to my 02 C2...
I also have to add how pleased we are with our dealer, Valley Motors and our salesman, Ron Nicola. (No affiliation, of course). The entire process was easy and a pleasure. He let us drive as many cars as we wanted to so we could get an idea, and even when my dad initially said he wasn't in the market, was very accomodating. That courtesy obviously worked on my dad quite well! In addition to taking a ridiculous amount off of MSRP and switching out the rims off of an '03 because we wanted the 18" Carrera rims instead of the Sport Design model, we got a free year's membership to PCA, and pre-painted bumper plugs from bumperplugs.com. These little touches are what makes buying such a fabulous car even sweeter!
Nick, let me be one of the first to congratulate you on the car (since many of the other posters have already resorted to recommendations!!). It looks awesome!! And the 18" rims that you have on it really bring out the best in the car, IMHO. Remember, you've got the dark car curse, so keep it clean to maintain that sheen.
Also wanted to ask what resolution are you taking the pictures at. Looks like 1280 x 1024. The reason I ask is because the pictures are breathtakingly detailed, and very "fresh" -- i.e., colors look really vibrant. So just curious to know what camera and which settings.
Congratulations again. The smile's gonna last for about a month (and then some)!!
Regards.
Shot a family portrait this Thanksgiving morning... somewhat appropriate as we have great reason to be thankful for being able to enjoy such wonderful machines as these.

"Family" picture is very nice...although is that '73 on the curb!!
PS -- Now I know why the original pictures are so sharp. As I thought, the resolution is extremely high. Beautiful pics again.
Regards.

Thanks
Yeah the right front wheel is on the curb, the bumper isn't touching it like it looks in the picture
