Ir is a bit more expensive than the others available, but I guarantee you it will remove the smoke smell and leave a nice "clean" smell behind.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've got a problem. My roommate smokes, but not in the house. Now that its begun to rain here, he smokes in the garage, where my car is parked.
Since I don't drive it in the rain, I hadn't driven it for several days. When I finally got to, I was unpleasantly surprised to find my nice leather smell replaced by the smell of cigarettes.
I can't hardly forbid smoking in the garage, since he was very accomodating to make room for the car in the first place, and I don't want it in the house either. Getting a different roommate is not an option, since this is about the only problem we may have.
Any suggestions?
only way is to open up ur car for 30minutes in the sun with windows and roof open.. i guess there are deodorants specially made for cigarette smell in the supermarkets?

996 C2 1999 (cigarettes are not allowed in my house, office and cars..)
Get a UV lamp/fan assembly and a battery charger.
Mine is about the size of a cigarette pack and I leave it on in the car to prevent the accumulation of mold and mildew odors when it's stored in an unheated garage for extended periods.
Just be honest with the guy. Tell him you dont like that your Porsche stinks when you get in it. Most guys would understand. Ask him to smoke on the patio or wherever else one can stay dry. PS..Smoking is hazaradous to your health and your porsche!!!
Maybe an air purifier could be put in the garage and he could turn it on when he smoked. There are also things that you can put in your car that apparently wont let your car smell like smoke, but I am not sure if they work or not. Check Brookstone or the sharper image. They are somesort of deionizer or something.
The windows in the car are always up, and the garage is always open when he's in there smoking. That's why it surprises me that it smells inside the car, but it sure does! I guess it gets in through the ventillation system.
I now make sure to press the recirc button before I shut the car off, hoping that this will shut the outside vents off. Hopefully that will work.
The reason I'm hesitant to confront my roommate about it, is because I don't want to turn a small problem into a big one. I can see how from his side I could look really **** about this.
Only solution seems to be to buy a car cover (one that does not 'breathe') and always cover your car while it's in the garage. Bit of a pain, but will solve your predicament without ruining your friendship.
My invoice for consultancy advice is in the post!
You could always buy one of those inflatable plastic bubbles for your car...
Or you could invest in a nice high volume HEPA filter for your garage. Those actually work quite well in small rooms where people smoke. The only problem is that the filters get very expensive.
Go to Target or Wal Mart and get yourself a can of Ozium. Ir is a bit more expensive than the others available, but I guarantee you it will remove the smoke smell and leave a nice "clean" smell behind. It is very concentrated, so spray for about 3 seconds, shut the door, and when you come back, the car will smell great. I used to use it in my cars during college, when after a party (I do not smoke) my car would stink and I detest that smell. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.
