According to JIC the only thing they have for P-Cars are SF1 and this is recommended for street use, while all the other adjustable kit are race-oriented.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Here are some pics from my last weekend spent with SPEEDTRIAL in BUTTONWILLOW. My 996 went off the track... ;-) I was going too fast and can't slow my car down enough for the last turn before the front straight. It was fun!! Got more pics in my photo album link down below.

POST 2Original post

Nice pics!!! Nice car. On the static shots, the car seems significantly lower. H&R set-up?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I actually got the JIC Coil Over. I have do a lot of research and found this setup would be the best bet for your investment for a street & occasionally track use. JIC setting is perfect for 996 (4/6;F/R spring rate) compare to H&R or any other setup on the street (well GT3 suspension might be better, but cost 3 times more) JIC setup got aluminum mono ball pillow mounts on all 4 corners (cost over $1000 when you buy these on the market) and it cost only $2000 for the complete kit as you see in this image. Since I am one of the JIC authoried dealer, I got this for a even better price. I like them and they handle much better than stock (more neutral) and it is just firm (not harsh). You may notice the front pillow upper mount is CAMBER ADJUSTABLE! If anyone on here interested in the JIC kit, let me know and I can hook them up with good price. Or anyone wants to test ride the JIC kit, let me know, I live in Los Angeles..

POST 4Original post

Lawrence, are those SSR GT3 wheels? I've been considering them the SSR GT3, 18" with SO3 tires for my C2 Cab. What's your setup? Like the Porshce center caps.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sorry for the late reply guys, i was in Vegas for SEMA show and just got back today. The JIC setup is available for 996TT according to the JIC info, however, I think it is on a special order basis as it might require a 6-8 weeks delivery time as the kit is built in Japan. You guys could log on to www.jic-magic.com for details. Click on CROSS PROJECT for details on Porsche suspension, since they name the Euro Stuffs under CROSS. They have the spring rate on there as well. As far as I know the 986 kit is still under development.

POST 8Original post

If I were going to depart the track surface, I wouldn't worry that much if the off-track area is as open as it seems from your picture. It may take me longer to drive back to the correct surface, but I'd rather that, then have to be pulled off the Armco. Exceeding the limits without having to pay the price is an inexpensive way to learn!

POST 9Original post

Lawrence RE: JIC suspension for the TT. I see only one set available on the JIC website, SF-1, yet one of their dealers also lists a FLT-2. Both are the same price. Any ideas which is best for street/track use? I may be interested in a set, if you can send me details Thanks [email removed]

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I think SF1 is the only set available for P-cars. Other models from JIC are adjustable and they are much stiffer than SF1, SF1 is a fixed valve damping (non-adjustable) suspension. I think the other JIC dealer do not have the correct info or they just listed it by mistake. According to JIC the only thing they have for P-Cars are SF1 and this is recommended for street use, while all the other adjustable kit are race-oriented. Also, the adjustable for sure is couple hundred dollars more...

POST 11Original post

Great pictures. I am glad that you came out okay.

POST 12Original post

Lawrence, were you there on saturday?... because I was there sunday and dont recall seeing your car.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah, i was there on Saturday. I wish you were there too, so we could have more Porsches there. Normally they have 3-5 Porsches participate in every event.
