Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

For you to win they need to replace the car covered by the existing lease with a new one...as if nothing never happened....and maybe that is what you mean by swap you....same remaining term, same payment...and you have an '03 at '02 original residual with a right to purchase

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Referencing my thread here: Linkage: Porsche will pay my C4S off in full, which basically puts them about 13K upside-down. I asked them to give me the next TT off the line, built to my specs, to be delivered after Dec 31, 02 (so no lux tax). They will sell it at MSRP. (They would give me an 03 C4S even swap, too.) If they agree to build me a TT (the next one off the line) they will want my old one back immediately, leaving me to rent a Ford Taurus for 2 months You all figure that's OK?

POST 3Original post

urbanski, Thats sounds like a very good deal. I did the exact same thing you did. I traded my C4S about 3 weeks ago for a Dec build TT, and was given close to sticker for my C4S. I say go for it!!!

POST 4Original post

Urbanski, Ask for a loaner porsche too..an old 911 or boxster...I didnt do that when I traded my C$S, and wish I had now!! Keep us posted.

POST 5Original post

I have followed your story unfold....while I am not familiar with your original method of acquisition ( lease or loan....I'll assume lease thru Porsche who may or may not have laid it off on a bank) If your deal was based on MSRP for the '02 C4S...Porsche has the profit margin at the factory if you will and the profit margin to the dealer level...I don't think you can assume Porsche is upside down....the dealer is not really a player here. If you took a new '03 C4s----they make less money, after they unwind your deal and sell the car again, but if you took a 996 TT at MSRP....They win Big! They are selling you a fully priced Porsche which has a $15 to $19,000 profit margin at the sales level plus their factory margin. For you to win they need to replace the car covered by the existing lease with a new one...as if nothing never happened....and maybe that is what you mean by swap you....same remaining term, same payment...and you have an '03 at '02 original residual with a right to purchase I hope I am wrong....now a '03 996 TT at invoice would be a good deal and all you are doing is dropping the dealer from the deal...i.e. direct purchase from PCNA....the dealer was feed on the first car

POST 6Original post

That's it!! I am going to try the same thing here in Vancouver! Trade my C4S (1800 miles)up to a TT. I hope I can get close to the #'s you guys did. What will your TT orders be?

POST 7Original post

If you get a Turbo at MSRP... I think an even swap for a 2003 C4S is the better deal. Just tell them you want to hold onto your car OR they must rent you a car until the new C4S comes in. However, if you get a Turbo at Invoice...well then that's another story.

POST 8Original post

Is the first deal contingent on the second? Will they just buy back your car without selling you another? A good friend in California tells me that the dealer lot is overflowing with low milage TT's. This is probably a great time to take advantage of a buyer's market if you can get out of your current car favorably. AS

POST 9Original post

Are you sure driving a Ford Taurus for 2 months is "healthy?"

POST 10Original post

Go for it, pull the trigger. You won't regret it.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'll hear back today if PCNA will agree to build me a new TT priority delivery. Yes I will win bigger if I take a new C4S for my old one...sure, but a chance to get a new TT is lying in my lap and if I don't come out much ahead...I'll still have a TT And I never asked if they will just buy back my old one and give me cash....but what would I buy with it??? Will let you all know.

POST 12Original post

Congrats Urbanski! You cant beat a TT !!

POST 13Original post

"And I never asked if they will just buy back my old one and give me cash....but what would I buy with it??? " a new TT $5k below MSRP!

POST 14Original post

Yup, I'd agree with sawmilldriver. Buying back your car is a good deal, but a TT at MSRP is definitely not. Moving up to the TT is a good deal, but the way the dealer want's you to do it is about average deal. So, it's a wash. It is not, however, a bad deal. It's up to you if the average deal is worth it to get to a TT, or if you want something for the past experience payback. Hmmmmmm. For me, I may just go for it.

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm still about 1100 bux ahead, since the dealer made one payment for me after the first transmission debacle And if I can take delivery after Dec 31 I save 2600 beans there.
