Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have decided to use my hard top for the first time and put it on over the weekend. Question: How close should The top be to the body when it is installed properly? Should it be flush with the body? I seem to have about a half inch of space between the body and the top in the back which seems to be a bit much but I am not sure what is correct. I have tightened it down as far as it will go. I am also getting some pretty serious groaning an creeking when I drive the car. It looks great though...almost like having a new car! :-) Any help will be appreciated.

POST 2Original post

There are at least couple of TSBs on hardtops. One for noises (7/01 6102) and one for latch changes (1/02 6117). Sounds like you need to have your dealer have a look.

POST 4Original post

Mine creaked too last year when I put it on. A quick trip to the dealer fixed it. Here's how it should look from the back: <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />
