Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Length is sometimes measured differently (Threads to ball seat, threads to bolt head, overall) but your bolts are likely 28mm shank length (to ball seat) unless somebody has previously installed spacers and longer bolts.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey everyone, new to the forums here so i'm just introducing myself. Just recently bought my dads Porsche 911, he got it when it had around 11k miles on it and now there is only aroun 19k miles on it. It is an mazing car and definitely a huge upgrade from my old Shinka Rx-8 (even though that car was a lot of fun). Anyway, i'm new to the forums so i guarantee i'll have plenty of rookie questions and ill try my best to research before posting. 2000 911 996 coupe 6 spd Factory Aero kit Carbon fiber interior (steering wheel, shift ****, center consol, around radio) Not sure on name or specs of the wheels or spoiler so if anyone could let me know that would be great. Also the measurements for the center caps for the wheels. Also if anyone has the measurement for lug nuts that would also help out.

POST 2Original post

Very nice, welcome to rennlist! Front spoiler not factory, side skirts and taco wing factory or repro but correct for 99-01

POST 3Original post

Front spoiler is factory. Mine is the exact same and I ordered it that way (from the factory).

Wheels look like Sport Classic II's to me. If the wheels are OEM (not reproduction) the lug nuts are probably 14mm x 1.5, R14 ball seat. Length is sometimes measured differently (Threads to ball seat, threads to bolt head, overall) but your bolts are likely 28mm shank length (to ball seat) unless somebody has previously installed spacers and longer bolts.

POST 5Original post

I love the full carbon interior and light grey leather. Such a great combo.

POST 6Original post

Very nice, love the taco. Those are sport classic II wheels. Have fun with it.

POST 7Original post

yeh sports classic 11s same as mine and a bastard to clean.

POST 8Original post

I would get some leather conditioner on the seats. That driver's seat looks rough for 19k miles in the picture. May just be lighting though. Nice car!

POST 9Original post

Your father is obviously cool!! Hopefully he gave you a good deal. Car looks great, I'm sure you are enjoying.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for all the info guys. Yeah the wheels are a pain to clean. I got some mothers wheel cleaner that did a pretty good job though (kinda pricey). Love the car so far and gona detail it first thing tomorrow, maybe take some better pictures.

POST 11Original post

**** ****??? Mine didn't come with one of those. Crap.

POST 13Original post

Nice looking 996 venom914, welcome to Rennlist. Post some pics of your 914 as well. Didi your Dad purchase another Porsche after selling his 911 to you?

POST 14Original post

Quotes source post: 10592511

Maybe it's the lighting in the pic, made it look like 2 parts to me.

Also, while we are being nitpicky. That basketball hoop in the back does NOT look like it is regulation height. Enjoy the new ride, it looks fantastic. Welcome to 996 ownership, it doesn't suck.

POST 17Original post

LOL I knew after I posted it I was coming off as nitpicky. Wasn't really my intention as it is a very nice looking car. Just saying that he needs some conditioner!

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Don't have a 914, 914 is my area code (westchester NY) hahah. As for my dad he's just saving until one day either get back into a porsche or into another fastback mustang ( he had a 67 and a 65 both fastback but sold those a few years back).

POST 19Original post

Welcome and congratulations Glad to see it staying in the family, I hope your able to put a few more miles on it then your dad. Enjoy and keep us posted with modifications.

POST 20Original post

As its a low mileage 996 with some rare options, have you considered just storing it for your collection instead of driving it? I would consider moving it inside and just keeping up with maintenance.

POST 21Original post

Quotes source post: 10598689

Maybe go one step further and stick it into a carcoon so you don't even have to dust it and risk damaging the paint.

POST 22 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Also has more carbon fiber parts that i'll have some more pics of hopefully soon. Never really thought about just storing it but I will be trying to drive it less to keep it at low mileage, have a civic dd available as well.

POST 23Original post

Torque to 93 ft/lbs. if that was your lug nut question. Nice car. Congrat's
