Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have found a on a gt3 oem bumper at $850. The seller says it is brand new, never installed but it was not purchased from a porsche dealer but from a 'provider'... so... - I wonder if you think this looks like a real oem ? - suncoast list a couple of additional part, like air diffuser grille and headlight trim moldings that my seller doesn't have, is it a big problem ? do I even need those ? - I still need to find out about shipping cost ? any recommendation as this is huge box. I don't think ups will take it.

POST 3Original post

That's a great price for the spoiler. I'm assuming the splitter is included too, as it is in the second picture. I got one shipped from NYC to ATL for about $125. It wasn't in a box, just wrapped, but I wouldnt do that again. Have the guy drop it at Fedex ground. You can get price quote on line if you know the dimmensions.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

does anyone know if I can re-use my headlight trim moldings ? or if I need to purchase some specifically for this bumper ?

POST 5Original post

That is a really good price for a MKII aero bumper difference is that a GT3 bumper has the 3rd radiator cut out. You can get it prepped and painted for another $200. MKIs is selling around $1700-$1800 range nowadays. I remember them going for that price 3 years ago. I hear Greyhound offer shipping at a competitive price. All accessories should be a direct swap.

POST 7Original post

white primer also a good sign its original is Porsche... hell of a price IMO

POST 8Original post

I wish I could find a MK I aero bumper cover at that price. Not that I need one....but you never know.

POST 9Original post

UPS will deliver it in the monster box. Had mine delivered that way years ago - don't know if you care or not, but I think (been a long time since I mounted mine) there's a piece that blocks the center hole (if you don't have a third radiator) - I cut mine out since I thought more air going thru the better....

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have been looking around but the bumper box is huge : 77x29x23 and it seems fedex and ups won't take it at any reasonable rate... any suggestion to ship this ?

POST 11Original post

that pricing is what I got my mk1 bumper 5-6 years ago.... might as well put a 3rd rad on....

Greyhound Bus. I am not kidding!! http://www.shipgreyhound.com/

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I doubt greyhound will have the space on their bus to place a box this big... I check their price and they are pretty good $75, which is the best so far, but after that anyways I don't have a car big enough to pick it up either arghh

POST 14Original post

Borrow a friends truck and pick it up at the bus station. $75 is a great shipping price.

POST 15Original post

Quotes source post: 7658726

Sure they do. Have you ever seen their luggage space under the seats on a bus?

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I asked my seller to see if he would agree to go drop it off over there... I cannot believe how they offer free shipping when you buy a fridge online if the shipping cost is almost the same price as the appliance... there is something I don't understand here

POST 17Original post

I had a GT3 bumper cover shipped from Florida a few years ago and the seller used Bax Global. I was concerned at first since I had never heard of them. They delivered to my door and called me in advance. Item was shipped boxed for about $100. I have no idea what it would cost today, but it may be worth checking.

POST 18Original post

Shipping; do as all the pros ship bumpers, none use a box. Thats a $150 charge. and By truck. You wrap it in bubble wrap and ship it fedx ground or ups for about $30 to $60

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

but when I go to ups and I give the dimension it says I am over and it goes to a special freight thing, super expensive... thanks for the pics though it helps. I am still trying to figure this out. I checked baxglobal, now schenker, it cost $200 for a 77x29x23 box.

POST 20Original post

#1 dont go to ups. I only use fedx ground. But I have recieved them from both ups and fedx so I know they both do it. I have shipped 3 in the last 2 months. They dont care about dimensions when you show up with it and hand it over. They do it alot. The last one I shipped was $45

POST 21 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

humm that's a new one... so you were able to send the bumper by simply showing up at the ups store unexpectedly Did you ship with the box or as in the picture above, bubble wrapped only. Tomorrow I will go to my ups store and see what they say.

POST 22 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I went to ups store and they went by their computer and said they could not take it ... last resort is freight shipping. I'll see if I can find something but it is quite expensive. I wonder how you guys manage to ship bumper for $100.

POST 23Original post

Why don't you just let me know who the seller is and I will buy it and have it shipped to my house. I can use it on my other car

POST 24Original post

I have shipped and received numerous bumpers including full body kits via Greyhound. They are actually more careful than Fedex or UPS based on my previous experiences. Most people just bubble wrap the bumper cover itself and ship it that way. If you ever get a chance to go back in the holding rooms where they hold all the shipments, you'll see most bumpers packed this way. The fact that it's Urethane is even less risky since there's very little chance of cracking it like you can with fiberglass parts.

POST 25Original post

I just had a 996 OEM turbo bumper shiped UPS for $120 from florida to VA. Looks OEM to me.

POST 26 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

argh that pisses me off Chris996, was your bumper bubble wrapped or boxed ?

POST 27Original post

Just contact the seller and negotiate a price INCLUDING shipping. Then let him worry about how to get it shipped to you. This should already be on your car by now.

POST 28Original post

I will get it friday, and let you know. Got it off ebay tuesday.

POST 29 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

With my recent car idle problem, I am afraid I will have to pass this bumper and send my car to the dealer instead. PM me is you are interested in the bumper, I'll send you the email of the seller.

POST 31Original post

I had my GT3 front bumper shipped via Yellow Freight, now I think it's known as YRC. Came boxed really, really well, wasn't cheap, probably about $200 back in 2008. Bumper was already painted so it had to be protected.

POST 32Original post

This is our bumper so if anyone is interested give us a call at [phone removed]. Price is $850 firm and you set up the shipping. We won't ship it bubble wrapped and you must have it insured for the full value. This is a clearance item, the bumper is brand new never installed or painted. Thanks, Art.
