Suggestion
I posted this question to the Becker board today, if anyone here has any ideas, please let me know, as it is nearly impossible to change the head unit with an aftermarket one and still have a nice looking console.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

About $20 and gives you two female RCA jacks for aux input. You can switch to "Aux" using the "S" Source button once the cable is installed.
Hi!
I have just received all connectors available from Becker for the cdr-220, including the four speaker line out cable which terminates in four rca plugs (I am planning to replace the bose amp and possibly the speakers), and the aux one for hooking up misc audio (mp3/xm).
I wired in the sony portable xm player, and it works great.

Hi,
I remember reading a post where someone reverse engineered the protocol that the cdr-220 used to communicate with the cd changer, in order to add his own mp3 player. The mp3 player looked electrically like the factory cd changer to the head unit, making for a very clean install. Does anyone have any info regarding the protocol, or finished products that accomplish this? I am hoping to do the same thing for xm radio (maybe use a pioneer ip-bus or alpine ai-net bus), where the xm stations are selected like cd tracks thru the head unit.
Thanks,
Peter
I have the cdr-220 so using the aux patch cables arent a problem if I want to use an external satellite reciever. DOes the use of the aux input for sat. radio preclude the use of a cd changer? I would like to have both if possible...
Anyone know?
CjN,
There is only one aux in to the cdr-220. It is used by the cd changer. If you want to input your own audio (eg xm radio), you have to disconnect the cd changer audio and connect the xm audio in its place. The only alternative is to leave the aux input wire going to the cdr-220 dangling in the footwell and manually connecting whatever source you want to listen to, or get an audio switchbox that will do the same thing in a nicer package.
I was afraid of that, that sucks. I was hoping for an elegant solution that would allow me to keep the becker unit. I cant find a single aftermarket headunit that i like the looks of, they all look so "bling bling" to me.
I emailed Eclipse to see if they had plans to produce a sat. ready cd receiver but no response. The search continues...
