Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that report identifying a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'heater relay' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'heater relay' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check battery and overall condition of the charging system' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I might be worth checking the battery and overall condition of the charging system.

Disconnected the battery for 6 hours hoping this would reset it, but nothing I have tried makes a difference.

The stalk still navigates and sets/changes the settings but the computer simply appears to ignore any changes made or the annunciated state of the controls.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.
0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

It looks like my LIMIT function has self-engaged and set itself to 76 mph.
It can't be changed nor disabled from the control stalk on the wheel. I have tried every combination I can think of. Nothing will shut Bitching Betty up.

Has anyone had that issue and what did you have to replace to fix it?

Newer batter and the car is driven daily.
It was recently serviced at the dealer for an A/C fault. Turned out to be the heater relay. It was a few days after I got it back before I got on the highway, so I suspect that the problem may be related to all of the poking and prodding performed diagnosing the A/C problem (took them about a week).
I agree with KrazyK. Most highways have a 65 MPH limit. There are a few with 70 MPH, and even fewer w/ 75 MPH limit.
76 MPH? That's nuts. Where would you ever get to that insane speed? The chime really should not be an issue at all, IMHO.
This advise is not really how to maintain a Porsche, however, if the choices are my advise or a stalk and computer I'd try this first: Find the noisemaker and disconnect it, problem solved.
