Luckily, Ferd installed a catch can into the design, but I was not diligent in checking the level in the catch can.

Only one incident - the engine went into a limp mode of sorts on track - wouldn't run past 1500 rpm.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I hope Ferd approves of this. Sweet car. Exhaust note is sublime. Car handles great. The big nut that holds down the seat is still the biggest limitation. Over 400 miles on the track. Wuhooo.

POST 3Original post

AWESOME!!! Way to get out there and enjoy the new car. The 996 really excels on the track and feels right at home there. P.S. Where's Sneaky?

POST 4Original post

Awesome shots, how did the 911 do? Just got mine and can't wait to get it on the track!

POST 5Original post

Gorgeous aero 996 doing what it is supposed to do...hitting apexes.

POST 6Original post

You have hit the mother load by tracking 400 miles. Now wipe that smile off your face.

POST 7Original post

Congrats on the laps and Im sure you were able to improve on lap times and really enjoy 400 miles...

POST 8Original post

That's awesome, always love to hear this. The shots look great

POST 9Original post

Looks great, quick question, where did you get your number stickers from?

POST 10Original post

Looks like a great weekend at the track. Glad to see you enjoying that beauty.

Wasn't able to do it this past weekend but I went there for moral support for a couple hours. Darrell was like a giddy school girl!

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK, I lied - 350 miles on track. I forgot to subtract the 10 mile jaunts to refill the gas tank, and dropping my wife at the airport on Sunday morning. (she really loved riding in the GT3 seats w/ harness, and holding her bag because the roll bar wouldn't let it fit in back and there wasn't room in the trunk). I checked with Ferd - he approves of my use of the car. Only one incident - the engine went into a limp mode of sorts on track - wouldn't run past 1500 rpm. Went off track to be towed in, but restarted it and it ran just fine. Turns out the increased crankcase pressurization from the supercharger resulted in oil carryover to the intake via the crankcase breather. Luckily, Ferd installed a catch can into the design, but I was not diligent in checking the level in the catch can. After 150 track miles it was full of oil, and had puked a bit into the intake, causing the MAF to say WTF and shut down the ECM for a while until I drained and restarted. I got the numbers from Soloperformance.com Reuseable vinyl panels. Just peel them off and store onto the backing sheets. My old numbers - 496 - are 4 years old and still useable; but not appropriate for the new car. (look at the number upside down).

POST 13Original post

Great looking car! I just got back from a track day at MAM.
