Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

His approach has been to buy a nicely optioned 'used' P-Car a few years old after it has taken the biggest hit to depreciation.

I used some water from the garden hose and everything came off smoothly and easily.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Been doing a lot of lurking and thought I'd finally post. Bought my first p-car a year ago. 1999 C2 Cab with 8k miles on it. Fantastic condition. Daily driver and now has 22k miles. Had to put new tires on and changed out all the fluids at my local Indy. Plan on an LN Engineering IMS upgrade when the clutch goes.
I made a few modest modifications to the vehicle and I'm pretty much done now. They include: New Turbo wheels (From eBay. Knock-offs.), amberectomy, garage door opener hack (not working out so well so far, but completely reversible), air bag sticker removal from visors, and B & N Short Shift Kit. Unbelievably happy with the car. Two track events so far. All that I've really learned is that I have a LOT to learn about driving! I've attached a few pics. All taken with my iPhone; sorry about the image quality.
Nice car and welcome! There is a great deal for ROW suspension FS from Gert at an excellent price. $735 shipped which will make your car handle better..
I take it, that's your blue bra for protection at the track? or maybe just front end protection for the dd?
Great looking car, you won't go wrong with the Cab!
If you had a blue car that would almost be a clear bra.
Nice car! Congrats!
More track time rocks! Personally, I wouldn't get the ROW suspension. Been there, done that. Just take the plunge now at get some PSS10s and save yourself some heartache and money.

Yup. That's painters tape for the HPDE. Worked really well. I was a little worried when taking it off. Briefly thought that I was damaging the clear coat. I used some water from the garden hose and everything came off smoothly and easily. Looks great.
Overall, I've been really happy with the car. Had a few small maintenance issues that seem routine; replaced seat belt receptacle (air bad light warning), coolant tank cap (engine temp warning light), and spark plugs (because the car was 10 years old). Runs like a champ and is really just fantastic to hear in the 4-7k RPM range. One event that I went to was an autocross (I have a lot to learn about autocrossing apparently), but it was just AMAZING taking the car through a slalom at high speed and really pushing though hairpin turns! You really learn to respect the car's capabilities.
Finally, I think that the car represents tremendous value. There is an article in this months Total 911 that discusses a long-term strategy for owning P-Cars. His approach has been to buy a nicely optioned 'used' P-Car a few years old after it has taken the biggest hit to depreciation. Then, he meticulously maintains the car with the intention of driving it some 20-odd years. Even with the somewhat higher cost of maintenance, the overall cost of ownership is MUCH less than the usual American practice of buying some middle of the line new Detroit car and trading in repeatedly after four or five years. Most importantly, he gets to stay in a fantastic P-Car while still staying ahead financially!
I know that I may feel differently in a few years (but I doubt it), but I LOVE this car and plan on keeping it indefinitely. Even if I end up buying another P-Car, I can't see myself letting this one go. I'd rather keep it in the garage and continue taking it out on occasion when I'm an old man. Porsche as a brand really has a way of infecting a guy!
Thanks for the kind words and warm welcome!

Worked like a charm. Honestly, there were about the only outward aspect of the car that was obviously aged. They look great. My only word of caution is to work slowly. Allow lots of time for the alcohol to soak in and peel the stickers back gently.
There are a lot of great DIY's there that are loaded with pics and clear directions. A complete noob like myself had no problem with the novice level write-ups.
