Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Outcome without a verified action link

Tightened strut nut (1/3 turn?), three nuts "surrounding" (1/8 turn?) and problem went away.

No unique explicit quoted action; no causal link assigned

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

On my 01 C4 when I turn tightly I hear a popping noise coming from the front of the car. It seems to happen as I turn and then again as I straighten the wheel. Any ideas?

POST 2Original post

There was a TSB on this but I thought it was fixed in 2000. What month was your car made? (inside of driver door sticker)?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Factory delivery in early May of 01.

POST 4Original post

It should have the new parts then. Perhaps your front sway bar is loose? A few have seen that also.

POST 5Original post

Sorry that I did not notice this thread until now. Being out of the country limits my view somewhat. I had a similar problem. Long story short, when turning right and loading then unloading the right suspension I heard a pop. Tightened the sway bar, which was loose, tried a number of other things, the sunroof track was found to be loose. When tightened all noise disappeared. Go figure.

POST 6Original post

Got so annoying I finally took a serious look/listen. Noise was definitely coming from the area of the top of the right front strut. Tightened strut nut (1/3 turn?), three nuts "surrounding" (1/8 turn?) and problem went away.
