Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Use these' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use there's no vent hose' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

But since they don't vent during regular use, there's no vent hose.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I tried to jump start the car from the front and that didn't work - and so went to the back engine compartment and car finally started.
So after spending $400 on a Porsche Moll battery (parts and labor) 2 yrs ago - I started the car this morning and even though all electronics were functioning all I got was a rapid click click sound - no start
I tried to jump start the car from the front and that didn't work - and so went to the back engine compartment and car finally started.
But in meantime I lost one touch window down and up function and cruise control became completely inoperable even after the successful jump
I went to auto zone and they had a duralast platinum advanced glass mat AGM H-7 battery for sale that is an exact fit in the battery bay
Except I couldn't find a vent hole. Google told me AGM batteries are gel material so there is no vent hole! Hopefully this info helps others
Finally - after starting the car with the new battery and raising and lowering convertible top all the one touch window functions came back and the cruise control is working again
I have read in other threads that loss of cruise when brake light switch is functioning could indicate a dead control unit. In my case it was a weak battery that played havoc with the electronics

I have had this one in my car for 6mos with no issue. not sure that's what you are looking for though
AGM batteries are sealed and don't need to vent. The acid is absorbed in the glass mat and they are considered non-spillable. You can run them on their side or even up side down. They can be made with a lot of CCA in a small package. Motorcycles have used these for years. I'd bet a small motorcycle battery would easily start a Porsche. Some V-Twins are over 11:1 CR and close to 2 liters which has a whole lot more cranking resistance than a 3.6, 3.8 liter 6.
AGM aren't gel; in fact, they've got all the pros of gel (maintenance free, unspillable) but way fewer cons and made gel cells instantly obsolete. They're not sealed; they're valve-regulated. Which means they operate most of the time as if they're sealed, but can still vent hydrogen gas if internal pressures get too high. They put out just as much power as a wet-cell, but don't hold up as well with respect to heat or longevity. But since they don't vent during regular use, there's no vent hose.
In short, nothing wrong with using an AGM battery as a starter battery, especially up north where heat is less of an issue.
