Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

ONR (optimum no rinse) - 15 mins (I never let the car go longer than one week between ONR washes - so it makes cleaning a breeze)

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
18 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.
Rennlist: 1 discussions
0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.
1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

What I can say is that it definitely worked for me.
So I decided to buy the new Griot's random orbital polisher to eliminate swirl marks and Dr. Colorchip to hide stone chips on the hood and bumper.
Results were actually very good.
PS: I LOVE MY HEADLIGHTS
Also some gratuitous pics comparing the hips of the 997 Turbo vs 996 C4
i used dr. colorchip on my arctic silver car, and it did not work great. it was alright for shallow chips, but the deeper ones definitely turned out darker than the surrounding paint.
I used the Griot's One Step with the Orange pad buffer.
I found it was more than enough to get swirl marks out without taking too much clearcoat off the paint. And my car is a daily driver (not a concourse car) so it was good enough for me...

I didn't want to spend 4 hrs detailing so :
1. Dr Colorchip was about 1 hr of work
2. Polishing was about 1 hr of work
2 hrs and I was done - I am amazed how people spend 4 hrs or more detailing but I personally have a hard time finding that much time...
Wow how did you polish the car in just an hour? I have the orbital buffer but even with that it takes a while. I think 4 hours for total detail is about average. I've been wanting to do mine but as you mentioned, getting the time to do it is a challenge.
Hey Roadsession,
Nice work and welcome to Griot's! The clay/speed shine/blue microfiber combo is the best. Works great on your glass, too! Once your car has been detailed, then next time is much faster. I can wash, clay, polish and wax in less than 90 minutes.
Ok here's the breakdown:
1. ONR (optimum no rinse) - 15 mins (I never let the car go longer than one week between ONR washes - so it makes cleaning a breeze)
2. Random Orbital with One Step polish/sealant - 45 - 60 mins. (depending if I find something I need to fuss over)
Notice I skipped claying - I only clay ONCE a year...
Now a FULL detail that includes the interior with lexol leather conditioner, vacuum, nooks and crannies - add another 2 hours
because I have no time to do anything else... But again not a concourse car - a daily driver for me. And to my casual observation eyes, car looks good enough for me
