Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

I do know that the mfg process for setting a lid in place in that manner is much more costly than the way 996s's are put together now.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 2Original post

Where are the pictures? I don't see any attachments.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cause there weren't any attached. It's in a magazine (9/02 issue). Sorry, but I don't have a scanner anymore. The car looks ver similar to the current one with more 993 like front lights. The wheels on the car look like the 17" cup ones on the 993 and it has a wing type spoiler on the rear. BTW, the 04 911 WAS computer enhanced afterall. They talk about a 335 hp 3.8 liter flat 6 and a 4.5 liter V8 (expected to produce over 400 hp) from the Cayenne. Lastly, I sure wouldn't be buying an 03 as those guys (and the 02 buyers) are going to experience what us 99-01 ones have in terms of depreciation. Probably better to buy a nice 2000 (cheap!) instead and wait for the 04.

POST 4Original post

I never thought I'd say this to a man, but Ben, you are a tease !!!

POST 5Original post

someone posted a picture the other day similar too the description above..it was pretty much agreed that it was "photo shopped"???

POST 6Original post

I hope Mr. Lehmann / Hidden Image is as clueless as those wheelwell flares are uninispired. R&T pays for this?

This board: http://www.funcarsonline.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=996&Number=6647&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=7&f part=1 has a thread I started similar to this one where someone posted another picture looking pretty much the same as the Road and Track one except this one looks like a track mule spy shot.

POST 8Original post

If this is the photo: It is clearly computer enhanced. Take a close look at the front bumper and the headlight surrounds. Especially to the right of each headlight, the shadows look unnatural. This car is a 996.

POST 10Original post

Computer-enhanced or not, I hope this is not the direction that Porsche is planning on taking with the latest version of the 911 marque. It seems too much of a throwback to the past, and less of a raising of the elegant aesthetical boundaries that Porsche is known for. Regards.

POST 11Original post

I've seen several pics where the front trunk hood is shaped more like a 356 than a traditional 911 on some "new 911" pics. IMHO it would be difficult to enhance something as intrate as that...but then again, what do I know. I do know that the mfg process for setting a lid in place in that manner is much more costly than the way 996s's are put together now. This pic is obviously a cobbled up photoshop one with the stock 993 front end and the weird side scoops...but look at the way the front trunk lid is set up. I do believe that the 04's will have a variant of that look vs the "standard front trunk lid that comes down to the bumper covers.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
