'02 on "BiXenons "are different , they motor up a shield that reveals the high beam pattern , using same HID bulb.

Installed retrofit Litronic kit for my '99 996. Is it normal for them to make groaning noise when key is turned to accessory position with lights OFF , similar to the sound they make when switching from low to high beam with lights ON ?

I'm not aware of litronics making any sound (original equip or retrofit)...but then my ears aren't what they used to be either ...GreggT

Checked my dealer - that's normal procedure for '99-'01 996 "Litronics"- the headlights are " priming " ( even if lights are off) to level out at the start of car. They ( HID low beam) point down then up to normal level at start of car , then a few degrees higher when supplementing the separate non-HID "H7" high beam bulb. '02 on "BiXenons "are different , they motor up a shield that reveals the high beam pattern , using same HID bulb.
