Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

All: Recently sold a Corvette to move into the Porsche arena. Looking at a '99 model in the San Diego area at Automotive Excellence. Would anyone be interested in dropping by to take a look? I have a ppi scheduled on Friday with an independent, but have a feeling he will focus on the mechanical issues. Would like to get an idea of the overall cosmetics, etc.- anything that might not show up in pics. I am located in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area. Any help would be much appreciated!!

POST 3Original post

Howdy Tex, Where is the Indi shop at in San Diego. I am located in Santee about 15 miles out of San Diego proper. If it is Black Forest or Dieters, the are both very reputable shops in our area. I am off Friday soooo.

POST 4Original post

Where are you in Tx? Have you found any that are closer?

POST 5Original post

For your PPI, I would suggest Black Forest http://www.blackforestautomotive.com/index.html . If you do buy from AI, be sure that they give you all the records at the time of purchase. I bought my 996 from them (note my avatar) and am happy with the car, but am still waiting for some of the older records to be sent to me. FYI, Black Forest did a complete PPI, not just mechanicals

Thanks for response, Kone. I chose Jay with Mirage International. I spoke with both Black Forest and Porsche of San Diego. Black Forest was having difficulty fitting me in and Porsche simply would not do anything on a vehicle that was being sold at another dealer. Jay was very thorough (included a compression test). I also appreciated the time he took to explain what he reviewed on the car. Very good experience. I will be visiting with them tomorrow, but not sure a deal will be done then. If you have the time, it would be most appreciated. Their address 11211 Sorrento Valley Rd San Diego, CA 92121. Again, Jay did a good job, but I would really just like an opinion on the physical condition (the little things that make a car imperfect). If I do a deal tomorrow, I will be sure to post. If I do end up wit

Arlington. Certainly in a major metro area, but really have not found anything that just really sent me over the edge. I decided to expand the search and may just drive one home to add to the fun.
