Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Buffalo or Sarnia may actually be easier as many cars come through there and their documentation requirements may not be as stringent (check with them).

Does anyone know what kind of tape I should use for the front bumper/front hood?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey Guys,
I'm heading out to Hermosa Beach CA to buy a P-car....
My question is, when google map the location:
Hermosa Beach, CA 90254, United States
to
Ottawa, Ontario
It gives me two routes, which one do you think is better?
One takes me through the northern part of the States and option 2 takes me a little south of the first option....
They are both basically the same duration and mileage...
Thanks,
Alin
Using Mapquest as the tie breaker, this is where I ended up.

Subjectively, it looks like a nice route, and the Sarnia crossing is a pretty good choice. My .02 anyway.
Northern route less traffic. More vistas. Less services. That is there'll plenty of gas stations, restaurants, motel/hotels, but if you have serious car trouble the nearest Porsche dealer a long tow away. Be sure to have a premium autoclub membership before you head out.
Nortern route probably will have cooler weather.
Southern route more traffic. You'll see some nice scenery to be sure but since the route goes through more heavily populated areas you get lots of well scenery a la southern CA.
A Porsche dealer will likely be closer though. (Long long shot you'll need one so I'd not worry about this.)
Weather will likely be hotter.
I've driven both routes west to east but not as far east (or north) as Ottawa. The route across the top of the USA is very nice. I recommend it.
Sincerely,
Macster.
I'm going to go with the top route because it swings by Vegas and i've never been!
I'll be driving a C4S and hopefully it will be as solid as they come throughout the whole journey! My girlfriend and I are flying out of Syracuse Wednesday night 1 way ticket to CA. Then driving back hopefully we'll be back by Monday LOL.
I'll try my best, I'll have a Blackberry with me and when I stop by at hotels i'm sure they will have internet.
I'll keep you guys posted...
I'll be crossing through the Alexandria Bay Port... I still have a few things to figure out.
Check with them on the documentation requirement. US Customs will likely need original documents 72 hours in advance - so you will need to Fedex them to the border crossing ahead of time. Buffalo or Sarnia may actually be easier as many cars come through there and their documentation requirements may not be as stringent (check with them). Ideally hire an experienced auto importation broker to get the paperwork processed for you. It will make things easier.
And PM me when you get here. I want to see the new car
Hahahhaha, I'll post pics of the whole trip and pics of the car once i'm there and I officially buy it!
I don't want to post pics of something I don't have...
some details; 2003 Cobalt Blue C4s. I should probably order the clears to replace the pumpkins right now lol......
33 Miles on the body and 8 thousand miles on the engine. I want to find out somehow if the new engine has an upgraded IMS.... i'm going to the Porsche dealer he usually goes to, so hopefully I can get all the info + a No Recall letter....
Thanks for the info!!
I will send them the title right when it's a done deal with the current owner.
I've dealt with the Alexandria Bay port before so i'm just going to stick with that one for some reason... I have to look into their weekend hours though, hopefully they will be open on the weekends.
I'll def PM you!!

Sounds like a lot of fun. I picked up my first Porsche in Milwaukee WI and drove it to Washington D.C. If the car doesn’t look right when you get their just hop on a plane to Vegas and look for another Porsche.
Topaz, as you probably know you don't need a broker. It is critical to know the hours that the US Customs and Border Service is open. Buddy of mine showed up late and had to wait until the next day. Also is Alexandria one of the borders that you can clear? I was told it was Sweetgrass, Montana, Lewiston and Detroit.
Have a great trip. I did the diagonal opposite - from Stuart, Florida to Calgary in 3 and 1/2 days.
No the bumper is not falling off lol.... i need that extra protection...
I will do the import process on Monday when they are open during the day. Last time I came to close to 4pm but they rushed everything and got me through. This time i'll be sure to show up around 1pm.
Thanks for the support people. I'm so excited!
Does anyone know a contact at Pacific Porsche in Torrance CA?
I am making a call today but they are not open yet to inquire and see if they would be willing to give me a recall letter. I'm not sure how fast they can get me this (if) they can. I would need it the following day.
