Suggestion

I think it's interesting how (on one hand) some of us who have Turbos, have gone to great lengths to change our fronts (even with C4S parts)....while at the same time there seems to to be a trend to want to make 996s look more like Turbos.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone, Picked up my 2002 Targa 6spd. 2 weeks ago. I was debating between a c4s and a targa, on the one hand there was turbo looks and all wheel drive, on the other a light car with a massive open air roof. I just needed that open air roof. Anyway, I am interested in changing the front spoiler to a turbo nose. The rear turbo spoiler I am getting from Ruf. If anyone has 4 sale or knows someone who has 4 sale a turbo nose, please let me know. Regards, Dan

Good thing lots of this stuff is almost interchangable Anyway....I think Don, on this board is your source as he recently converted his front and you'll find his posts.......BTW, RUF also has a rear bumper assembly w/the lower (turbo-like intercooler grills) that also will fit your targa

POST 3Original post

Here ya go: I want to look like a turbo nose BTW, the targa is still heavier than the C2 by 140 lbs, and all that extra weight is in the wrong place: high up in the roof . Congratulations on your new car!!

POST 4Original post

Only reason I converted was because I love narrow-bodies and RUF turbocharged a narrow-body 996 W/O the ugly side intakes...so do I. If Aois likes narrow-bodies, he da man! HisCar: My car:

POST 5Original post

And besides that, I'm official because I have a RENNLIST sticker on the windshield!

POST 6Original post

Hey Don. Is that RUF turbo an 01 or 02? I forget. TIA

POST 7Original post

It's an 02. It was in the June or July issue of Excellence. The good news is that Chris (from Germany) posted on funcarsonline site that Porsche will produce a Turbo Cab in 03. Base for 02 996 Cab was 83K w/literally no options.

"It's an 02. It was in the June or July issue of Excellence." Thanks Don, your car looks great! Unfortunately, mine is an 01. "The good news is that Chris (from Germany) posted on funcarsonline site that Porsche will produce a Turbo Cab in 03." That's not as good a news to me as I used to think it was. I'm probably not interested in a 3700 lb "sports" car.
