This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Was driving over the weekend with the kids. Was going fine when the PSM failure light came on, and then the ABS failure light came on. Car ran great. Got home, shut her down and took her out again later. After about 30 min, the warning lights came on again. Since then, I just turn off the PSM when I start the car up. Any advice as to what the problem could be? I've heard that the MAF sensor may be the culprit. Am I doing any damage by driving with the PSM off? Thanks in advance! Car has 69K miles on it.

POST 2Original post

I had a similar issue - it was a $10 switch causing a rear brake light failure when I applied the brakes, which caused an ABS failure light => which caused the PSM failure.

POST 3Original post

Agree with the above. Checked diagnostics and not sensors but brake pedal switch...low cost and quick job to sort out. Problem solved

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the info. Where is the brake light switch located?

Try this thread if you have not already. It tells you where the switch is too, among other relevant info. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...ht-switch.html Good luck.
