Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone, I need advice again! Thanks in advance. Which exterior color of a C4S has better resale value or easier to sale in the future? Following are the color my wife and I like in order. 1) Carrara white, 2) Arctic sliver metallic, 3) Speed Yellow, 4) Seal grey metallic, 5) Lapis blue metallic. I know black is good, but my wife and I hate black. One sale manager told me that white will be very difficult to sale. Thanks again.

POST 2Original post

Mav: As you will surmise from the attached link, I am very partial to Seal Grey metallic. My experience since owning this car has been that the first reaction by admirers is to comment on the low, sporty, wide-body look followed very quickly by "I love the color". http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/TJHC4S1292.JPG I particularly like the way it adapts to different light levels - i.e., it looks much lighter in direct sunlight and much darker in low or no light. I am also very fond of artic silver. Finally, I agree with the comment that a white car may be more difficult to resell. Enjoy the selection process!

POST 3Original post

Go with the Seal Gray. 2ns choice would be Silver or Lapis blue for re-sale value.... Do not get white. Do not get the beige interior...

POST 4Original post

Which exterior color of a C4S has better resale value or easier to sale in the future? Of those you meantioned, and if resale is your primary criteria, the tried and true artic silver would be the best choice (that's why you see more in the color than any other). BTW, I have seal grey and love it

POST 5Original post

I would get speed yellow especially with the C4S(showstopper) but if your're worried about resale then go with silver or blue-majority of buyers will look for those colors. With the yellow or red- you have to get use to alot of people galking in a good way : ). Black is nice when clean but man when it's dirty looks terrible(high maintenace care). I would stay away from white simply looks plain and buyers of white are rare. But since it's your car and if you plan to keep for a long time go for the "blood boil" factor- what makes you sing "WOW". Regards. Mike

POST 6Original post

Mav: First- Get what you like, your driving it and looking at it more than anyone. Second- If you lease, who cares about resale. I think the anti-white sentiment comes from the white that HAS been on the 996's. The Glacier White on the 993's is gorgeous. I don't think that sales manager would turn down any low mileage 2S/4S/Turbos in Glacier White, Red, Black, Silver or Yellow, with yellow being a "not for everyone" color. The new white is not a deep white/blue as Glacier White but is still superior to the 01' white. Keep in mind the White will enhance/make larger the back-end, while keeping the lines. Dark Colors (Seal Grey/Lapis/Black) will tend to hide the width, as well as the vents. My $.02 Regards, Tom 97' C2S Glacier White/Black 02' C4Cab Seal Grey/Black

POST 7Original post

Resale: 1. Silver, 2. Seal Grey, 3. Blue, 4. Speed Yellow, 5. White My personal preference: 1. Blue, 2. Speed Yellow (wow! but bold) or Red 3. Silver, 4. Seal Grey, 5. White I don't like white on a sports car (personally) - silver/seal grey are classic, but to sedate for my personal taste for a car like a 911. Ultimately - buy what you like - they will all ultimately sell when (if) you want to sell the car.

POST 8Original post

mav i you like white get it!!! i think white looks great in a c4s or turbo i just didn't want to wait for one i had no problem selling a prior white 911. white is also very durable, easy to keep clean and easy to touch up. white is also the traditional porsche racing color. imo arctic silver is a boring color in spite of its great popularity at the moment. i have been surprised how much i've liked my new lapis c4s. its not nearly as hard to keep clean as a black car. i would still prefer white though don't worry about resale. white rules let us know what you decide

POST 9Original post

In Germany, the Autobahn police are referred to as "Weisse Mauese", - white mice - using white Porsches. I don't know what that has to do with the price of rice in the PRC, but the "Weisse Mauese" instill fear, admiration and respect.

POST 10Original post

Tie for first place: Seal Gray and Arctic Silver 2nd Place-Lapis Blue I like the Gray and Silver because they are sort of neutral colors. IMHO Lapis Blue would be great with NBL. Even tho I have AS/MB w/Blue Top if I had it to do over again I would go with AS/Black/Black. What ARE you going to choose for an interior??

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Everyone, This is the update about the color that I may choose. I will go to a dealership which has a seal grey/balck comming, and I may take it then.

POST 12Original post

Sealgray/Black was a very close second choice for me. You can't go wrong.

POST 13Original post

mav wouldn't it be great if all problems were like this! seal grey is a great color but white is better great post from karl on those fierce white mice on the autobahn--fear and respect--i like that! stick with white if you can wait!

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone again, Finally, I bought my C4S last night. I went to the dealership yesterday and take a look at how seal grey looks under California sun. At that time, a Lapis Blue C4S(now is mine) was sitting right next to it. The result: I LIKE BLUE MORE! Therefore, I bought Lapis Blue Metallic/Metropol Blue manual C4S. I will post its photo when I got them. Thanks for everyone to help me to choose a color.

POST 15Original post

great interior color too! what options did you get?

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone, Here are the options came with my C4S. Advance Technic Package 3,240.00 Heated Seats 415.00 Wheel Caps with colored crest 175.00 In dash CD Player 350.00 Supple Leather front and rear seats 395.00 Floor Mats 115.00 Porsche crest in headrest 215.00 Destination 765.00 MSRP $85,870.00 BTW, I like the wheel caps with 4S on them. However, the dealer did not order C4S without wheel caps with colored crest.

POST 17Original post

My neighbor, whose C4S is parked right next to my car, has it white. I had always thought that white was unsuitable for Porsche's in general, and especially the C4S, but I can tell you in looking at his car, it looks schweeeeet!!!! Definitely changed my mind. Regards.
