I just replaced the AOS on my C2 2002. I thought everything should be ok now. The other day when I turned about 90 degrees to the right to a highway entrance, reved a bit and then on the entrance I reved a bit more. When I had just turned and driven about 100 meters and reached about 5000 rpm I saw a BIG puff of smoke behind me... I thought the replaced AOS should make my car stop smoking (since it used to smoke before). I checked the dipstick and the oil was just at the top marking of the stick so it should be fine. Somebody have the same experience? Robert

Could be just left over pooled up oil in the intake from when the AOS was bad.

I drained about a half of a quart of oil out to help prevent this. I had mine filled to the top of the mark and just a **** hair past. When i would go full throttle up a hill, it would smoke. But once i drained this little bit out, it doesn't happen. There seems to be a fine line between too little and too much even if it is onlt 1/2-1 1 qt.

Good point! Thank you! That seems to be the case. I only saw smoke once and I haven't seen any smoke since then even if I tried to provoke it to smoke Robert

Ok, I have some pictures but there is already a ton of pictures and DIY for AOS replacement, I thought nobody cared... Here is a picture of my old AOS. I actually cut it open with a knife before this picture if you wonder, but you can see the crack in the membrane in the middle. Robert
