I'm going for the OEM pads, as it is not a big deal to clean these rims...

Could also consider Textar pads from Pelican - these are OE equivalent - I think they were around $100-120 for the front set on my C2 ....Old Porsche pads came out with the same Textar part number stamped on the back !

For sensor - I reused mine - use a small screwdriver to pry it out of the pad - do not pull on the wire alone ....even that may not guarantee no breakage though.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Folks,
Front brake pads are getting very thin, and the rotors seem fine. I'm thinking of buying a new set of brake pads and installing them on the old rotors.
Does anyone have any good recommendations on which brake pads to buy? I'm thinking going stock, but at the same time I would love an equal if not better variable in dustless....
Let me know. Thanks,
Alin
Just go stock. OE. I did for the 1st pads for my 02 Boxster and got nearly 100K miles out of the factory rotors.
My experience is with the stock/OE pads/rotors while they generate some dust the brake life and more importantly the brake action is very good.
With aftermarket I can't remember if the dust output was reduced but I do remember the brake life was shorter. Brake action was ok, I did not observe any real difference in that area.
I'm also a fan of stock brake pads and rotors. Porsche OE brakes are very good.
Changing to a low-dust brake pad has trade-offs. It's great for keeping your wheels clean, but low-dust brake pads are generally made of harder materials. As a result, their performance is impacted compared to the softer OEM pad. It may be irrelevant for street driving, but it may be noticable in spirited driving or in track applications. On the other side of that coin you'll find track-oriented pads. Track pads have more bite and will perform better in a performance applications, but they require heat to work properly. As a result, they are great on the track, but they can be a challenge on the street, especially when cold.
There's always a trade-off. As long as you understand it and you are okay with it, then it's all good.
Thanks for the replies. I'm going for the OEM pads, as it is not a big deal to clean these rims...
Now, does anyone know where I can find the best deal on front brake pads?

Did you check rotor thickness with Caliper ? Hard to tell if out of spec just by looking. If Rotor has ridge on outer edge or is scored you would probably be better to turn them - if that can still be done and they are still in spec after that.
Rotors are pretty easy to change and about $120 a side for Sebro drilled.
For sensor - I reused mine - use a small screwdriver to pry it out of the pad - do not pull on the wire alone ....even that may not guarantee no breakage though.
The squeal shim may be stuck in caliper after you remove pads - but should pop out - you should be able to reuse that - I also put anti-squeel paste on back of pad (between back of pad and shim) - brakes are totally silent ....
+1 for SCB. Got my rotors and pads from Zookie last year. Zimmerman rotors with Pagid/Texar pads. You should replace all hardware, dampers, screws, springs, etc.
And sensors are $10 each, if they are original just change them out.
Just did the brake pads this morning and I reused everything. Pin, retainer and sensor. Right now bleeding the brakes and clutch. Then spark plugs this afternoon. Also did the motor mounts, piece of cake.
This is one of the best cars to work on.
I plan on re-using everything as well. A very good cleaning as well.
I've already bled the brakes and clutch last fall right before storage.
I'm just hoping there will be no issues with the new pads on the current rotors.
