Let's see, 19" wheels are heavier and cost more, 19" tires are heavier, cost more and ride worse, the suspension was not designed for 19" wheels ( the suspension was changed when 19" wheels started to be offered on 996's) which puts additional stress on the assembly.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi New member......... I'm sure this has been raised before so bear with me. I'm looking at upgrading to a set of 19's, on the above vehicle. The particular set I'm after is from Wheel Dynamics http://www.wheeldynamics.net/wheels.php in the states Rim type : -808-SERIES Mono-Block Wheels Has anyine dealt with this mob before or is there a dealer in Vic, Australia that can supply. Any info on this upgrade for this model would be useful, i.e offset tyre size etc. Also post upgrade; regarding ride, arch clearance, problems & anything you would of done different? Any help / opinions would be appreciated

POST 2Original post

Welcome. I've used them about three years ago. They painted my wheels and center caps, then installed them. Small shop with good customer service.

POST 3Original post

I used Wheel Dynamics for a wheel and tire purchase in the past. I was very pleased with their products and their service. I highly recommend them. As for the 19" wheel "upgrade", that has been discussed extensively on these boards. You can upgrade your wheels and stick with 18" wheels. It's worth considering if you haven't already.

Dennis C is right. Let's see, 19" wheels are heavier and cost more, 19" tires are heavier, cost more and ride worse, the suspension was not designed for 19" wheels ( the suspension was changed when 19" wheels started to be offered on 996's) which puts additional stress on the assembly. Ever seen a 996 race car on 19" wheels. So basically 19" wheels are all about BLING was costing more and decreasing performance. Your choice though
