As Palting said if you have PSM it will need to be recalibrated, and on some cars they will need to adjust the steering rack slightly.

My friend owns a body shop and just purchased a spring compression machine for it. Aside from the calibration of sensors etc.?, Do you realisticlly think that it can be done by me(no suspension experience) and my friend. Has anybody else did it themselves?

From what I read re-alignment is necessary after lowering.

If you carefully mark the strut mounting positions you can probably do the job yourself and feel safe to drive (slowly) to your alignment shop. As Palting said if you have PSM it will need to be recalibrated, and on some cars they will need to adjust the steering rack slightly. A good alignment shop should be able to "finish up" for you.
