Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I can understand for Europe with the drive-by noise testing but that's not the same here,

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

 • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Generation: 20261026T122219Z · outcome-qualification-6. Deterministic extraction; no AI model inference. How we use sources

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi. I'm considering a 996 Coupe and the dealer has a number of '02's in stock. They're a little quiet on when the '03's might arrive and what the differences are. Anybody know if there's a major difference, is it worth waiting, should I get an '02 and pocket a better deal, etc.? Thanks

POST 2Original post

I've heard (from posts) that it will be cosmetics (maybe) and unbundled options (probably more expensive)

POST 3Original post

I understand the cars themselves will not change. A few new options and unbundling of option packages are the only changes I've heard about.

POST 4Original post

I understand the optional Sports Exhaust will have an interior switch allowing you to switch between the sports exhaust or normal exhaust.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hmmm.. I believe this switch used to be on the older 993's as an option. From memory I think that it did something on the intake manifold and not on the exhaust but this was deleted due to the extra level of sophistication on the 996. You sure that they're bringing this back in the USA? I can understand for Europe with the drive-by noise testing but that's not the same here,

POST 6Original post

I am told that the 03 sports exhaust does have the switch included, I think this is specified on the July 15 version of the 03 order specifications (this was posted by somebody on funcarsonline recently).

POST 7Original post

What is the cost of the 03 sport exhaust option with the switch?

POST 8Original post

[quote]Originally posted by Don Watson: What is the cost of the 03 sport exhaust option with the switch?

I'm willing to bet it probably is slightly more than the '02 cost. I am also willing to bet that you do not have complete control over the sound. It will be like the spoiler switch, where it is mandatory open at certain speeds. I think I like Loren's and c4fdr's ideas better.
