Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm looking at a few used 996's. 1. One has an aerokit. I'm not overly fond of the rear spoiler. What's involved in restoring it to a non-aerokit spoiler? What are folks feeling of relative resale value with the aerokit. To me, it's likely a minus despite its hefty original cost. 2. One has chrome wheels. Definitely not my style (can you tell I don't go for flash?). What might a set of perfect 18" factory chrome turbo-look wheels bring? I would definitely replace them.

POST 2Original post

If you don't like the looks of the aerokit, you shouldn't buy one with it. It adds to the price (assuming it's the factory kit), and I think the car would look somewhat strange with the rear wing removed but the rest of the aerokit in place. I don't like the bright wheels look either, but some apparently do, so factory chromes (god help the factory) should have a market.
