ckl 93, if you check the oil electronically it shows you a graph with about 8 lines.each line stands for 0,25 liter of oil.The oil level should not be belowthe lowest linem meaning you should see at least 2 filled stripes.

When i fill up my gastank i have the impression that the electronic oil level control doesn't function properly; in my Boxster it showed the oil level every time after filling up, but in my C4 cab it doesn't show the level at all, even though last time it was at minimum level.Is there a difference between the Boxster and the 996 in the level control, or does mine just doesn't work the way it should be?
They say it's supposed to reset itself and do a check when you refill your tank. I'd like to hear how you actually read the gauge...when you turn the ignition to the ready position and the timer ticks down, is there supposed to be a line indicating your oil level? I always check with the dipstick cause I haven't figured this out.
Don't know about the boxster. In the C4S, it supposedly figures out the time for the oil to return depending on how long the engine is off and oil temperature, then it begins it's countdown. Example, turn engine off at gas stop, try to check immediately, gives me 15+ minute(!)countdown. However, found out that even with this countdown, the results are quite variable. I just check every morning before starting the car, and have been getting consistent and reliable readings.

What i still want to know is does the level shows itself automattically after you ignite the car after fuelling up?

To answer your question, yes it does show the oil level automatically. After I fill up, turn the ignition on, I get the countdown and see those lines for the oil level.
