Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I HAVE to have it fixed as it's a rent car and I charge for miles.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've never had this many problems with a car within 4 months of ownership. Numerous check engine lights, a clutch, now the led readout for the mileage is out. Anyone have this happen to them before? I HAVE to have it fixed as it's a rent car and I charge for miles. Covered under warranty?

POST 2Original post

Of course it's covered under warranty. BTW, I'm pretty sure the mileage is also kept on the ECU.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm sure it is, or at least I'll find out.

POST 4Original post

You rent a car to people in the continental USA and you are surprised that the clutch has gone after 4 months. I'm amazed it lasted 4 minutes.... <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" />

"Let's drop the clutch and see what this baby can do from the traffic light!"

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Our Viper still has the original clutch in it after 30,000 miles...... and it's a rent car.

POST 7Original post

I think the ones who rent them think they are drag cars which they are not and of coarse the clutch would go. Now if you actually rent them for the track then defineitly lot less wear vs those drop clutches from the traffic light. How much do you charge for rental on the 996? Hopefully it covers the repairs and still make a profit. Regards. Mike
