Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have seen the term VarioRam in several places. Is it simply a typo? Also Kudos to all board participants, though whom I have gained a wealth of knowledge. Thank You! It is great being surrounded by enthusiasts like myself. Once I actually get my car I hope to contribute back. Now that I have placed the order, what should I expect in the next few months? I was given a five months wait time with delivery in November. I am new to the car-buying thing and could use any and all advice. The order is placed with Porsche of North Orlando, where we had a very plesant experience in test-driving and working out the details such as options. One of the "features" of the dealership is cost-free vacuming and washing of the vehicle throughout its lifetime. Also, what I thought was a nice touch, was the offer to come into the dealership for another joyride throughout the waiting period to lessen the pain of waiting for delivery. We negotiated a 2% MSRP discount on the car before taxes. Is this a good (enough) deal? I felt like we were treated very fair, but again lack of experience in purchasing a vehicle put me in a defensive position. For those interested, here is what we settled for: '03 996 Black/Black C2 Aluminum Instrument Dials Technic Pachage 18" Carrera Wheels Power Seat Package Flared Rocker Panels Floor Mats (I know, obvious...) We were toying with PSM and Full Leather, but wanted to stay price concious for the "first" Porsche. However, we are planning to keep the car for a long time to come. Price is about $74k + taxes, but I was told that final pricing/options for the '03 are not available until July, ensuring me things usually don't change to much for MY. Again, what is the sequence of things to happen? Any advice on what to look out for when taking posession of the car? Any one here a member of the Florida Citrus PCA? Thanks in advance.
