I figured without both sensors installed the engine wouldn't run right, so I didn't bother to try and install them.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone installed these? I just got a set and went to put them on last night. However, upon inspecting my stock cats, I noticed each one has two probes in it, one in the pipe before the cat and one after it (muffler side). Unfortunately, the FVD cats only came with one hole tapped for a sensor before the cat, there is no hole after the cat. I figured without both sensors installed the engine wouldn't run right, so I didn't bother to try and install them. Has anyone else tried these sport cats? Did they ship me the wrong part or do I need to get these modified in order to use them? Seems like they should ship these complete and ready to install.

POST 2Original post

You are correct. You will have to drill and move one of the sensors. I don't have the cats yet but my Porsche Doctor did describe this needed to be done. Good Luck! I intend on getting these cats shortly.

POST 3Original post

they should have had the O2 sensors bungs already welded inplace. If not not a big deal.....just another step.... all you have to do is buy 2 stainless O2 bungs at $10/each and dryfit the new cats on the 996....... and then mark the proper placement of the O2 bungs with a magic marker........drill the proper diameter holes and then weld the suckers in. best regards Joe

POST 4Original post

What type of power increase or sound are you supposed to get from either the sports cats or the cat bypass systems?
