Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

In my previous car, a 2.5ltr Boxster, I had the ROW Sports Chassis and the results were similar however the Boxster IMO is a better handling car compared to my 99 C2 Cab even with the changes done to it.
Leading evidence: 'Replace done' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace done' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Anyone know about this? I heard it is a euro thing? 30 mm lower that the normal 030 option? I don't think u can get it in the US, but it might b a good option to upgarde to from a normal 030.
No, this option lowers the ROW standard cars by 30 mm. Supposedly, the best handling package you can get on a street going '02 996 to date. Parts are not yet available, though.
I would be cautious about this thing. Thirty mm under RoW is really very low. If this is going to be a dedicated track car, maybe. But for a street car - why? The overall "real world" handling of a low and stiff car will NOT improve. You win on a smooth road and loose on a bumpy road. Please correct me if you feel this is wrong.
It seems that GT3 or aftermarket coilovers would be a superior solution. At least, changing ride height
would not be a 2K proposal
We're not sure what this really is. I got some more info. Its listed in the 2002 order guide in England. Its got to be more than the ROW 030 kit. They list the 030 option at about the same price as the US option and then they list the X74 at about $2000 US. It must be more. Could it be a GT3 chassis setup? I ordered my car with the 030 and would like to improve from there. My boxster is lowered about 40 mm and its fine on the road for the amount of driving I do. <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" />
No, it is not a GT3 chassis. The shocks and springs are not even adjustable coilovers. Just a lower and firmer suspension with the same ride height as a GT3.
It ( the X74 suspension) was reviewed in a British magazine in a comparo with M3 , Exige, etc. They said it was so stiff that the front end was so skittish it was actually slower than std 996 on anything other than racetrack smooth roads.
MKW,
I too read that article, infact I still have the magazine - it is the EVO magazine, Feb '02 edition.
I have stock shocks with H&R Sports Springs which lowered my '99 C2 Cab by 30mm all round. Car looks and drives great however on bad roads the comments from the magazine is accurate - the car jolts & bumps uncomfortably. Prolonged driving in such conditions is not advised IMO.
The handling compared to stock was like DAY & NIGHT however now that I am used to the car (12mths & 20k miles after the upgrade), I am not that impressed. The car has noticeable body-roll in fast corners and on long straights when I hit dips in the road stability is lost momentarily enough to cause me to slow down.
In my previous car, a 2.5ltr Boxster, I had the ROW Sports Chassis and the results were similar however the Boxster IMO is a better handling car compared to my 99 C2 Cab even with the changes done to it.
I am upgrading to an '02 C2, or maybe C4 Cab, and this time round I am going for a GT3 coilver handling kit. I think IF the stock ride is not to anyones suiting - i.e. handling is an issue - then an ADJUSTABLE coilover kit is a better buy in the relative short term - also means when, or indeed IF, you come to sell the car your choice of prospective buyers are not limited to track day users ONLY.
I only say this because I am finding many prospective buyers ALL SEEM to be disinterested when I mention the car is FIXED lowered - I guess not everyone likes the firmer ride it now has although the looks are now definitely more purposeful.
Hope the above helps the topic starter.
