Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Install yet' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install yet' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Has anyone ever tried to mimick a GT3 style air filter setup? I've come across some pictures but can't seem to find them. It looks like the air filter is directly attached to the throttle body with the MAF sensor just behind the filter. In some pics I've seen a carbon fibre heat shield in others I've seen aluminum. This could probably result in a 1-5hp gain. The only issue I can identify would be the ability to keep the engine heat shielded from the filter.
I know that K&N Japan has a carbon fiber intake that looks great.. for a GT3 only....
If you come up with any info put me down for a group purchase or maybe as a guinea pig..
MMtech I need to mention though that where would you put the MAF sensor? Would you fabricate a tube with a MAF adapter plug that into the throttle body then put the GT3 filter? I definitely think you will gain more hp wuith that set-up especially with cone shaped filters. Had a friend who had a ECIS intake(cone) in his e36 m3(I installed it for him) and the results were significant. The stock airbox was so resistant that I could feel the peaks/valleys going thru the gears but after it was done smooth thruout the powerband and throttle response was definitely increased. have to give kudos to those jap import magazines-cone filters seem to dyno really well. Regards and good luck and keep me updated on the powerkit. Mike
A lot of companies came out with these intakes a couple of years back. Long tube with a place for the sensor...What everyone seems to get is a check engine light due to the sensor freaking out!
So keep that in mind as you try to make your own.
Damn that carbon thing reminds me of the two guys with ferrari 355's who put something similar. But is that engine on the pic the same engine as the 3.4. Looks like to place that carbon intake you need to relocate some stuff. You the man MMtech!!!Mike
