Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I will be ordering in a few weeks and still cannot settle on the color. I have wanted Speed Yellow for so long, but am having doubts. What to do?

POST 2Original post

Have you decided C2 or C4S. Speed yellow in the C4S would be way cool and for a sportscar gotta be yellow/red/white/black IMO but silver is classic as well. Good luck!! Mike

POST 3Original post

I wanted a British racing greencar from being a little kid. My first 911 (an 02 C4S) is in Rainforest Green. I couldn't be happier. Go with the color you originally wanted. Second guess the options instead. You will be happy with your choice.

Wimbledon Green or Ocean Jade http://www.hobbystage.net/porsche/whatever

POST 5Original post

I agree with Alan. Go with your gut on color and enjoy the fact that you own a Porsche! A new Porsche is any color is beautiful!

POST 6Original post

My c4 coupe is Iris Blue - graphite grey leather interior with carbon here and there (a bit lighter than lapis) and I love it. That being said, my next 911 would be either speed yellow with black seats (yellow stiching/yellow belts) or guards red - natural brown leather. I think the speed yellow/black combo looks great on a coupe like the c4S or Turbo and the red/tan combo looks great on a Cab. I'm having so much fun in my current C4, however, that I don't envision making a change anytime soon!

POST 7Original post

Depends so much on your personality. If you want the "classic" look then Arctic Silver/Metropol Blue is sedate. Previous one was dark blue/savannah beige..also sedate. I like the idea of going with your first choice. Of course a lot depends on how long you're going to keep it. If you trade frequently then I say go for broke. If you're going to keep it awhile, make sure the wife/girlfriend/significant other, etc. approves!

POST 8Original post

Depends on why you are having doubts. Is it because you are wondering what others will think or because you are not necessarily happy with it now, or because of resale. If its because of resale then you would never get a return value on most of the options on the car anyway. In which case who gives a ?*&^ what others think of the banana color anyway If youre not happy with it, take a look at the Porsche.com car configurator. Silvers common but still looks cool. Otherwise dark looks best. I think grey or blue is ideal. Regards

POST 9Original post

My .02 cents. Speed yellow has always been one of my favorite colors. I think it would look stunningly playful in a Boxster, S200, Z3. When I was interested in a Boxster S, it was going to definitely be yellow (Black interior, yellow belts, yellow accents). However, I think the 911's, coupe or cab, are too purposeful, too aggressive, to have a playful color. Black, red, silver, are fine. Having said that, my final word, go with what your heart desires and forget about what other people (me included) say.

POST 10Original post

My 2000 boxster s was speed yellow with black interior and top and yellow bars, belts, and stitching. It got far more attention than my arctic silver c4s. Speed yellow cars are beautiful. Go for it if you don't mind the added attention. Terry RLM #020409-3789

POST 11Original post

For me, SY is a color I wish my neighbour had, so I could look at it when I wanted, but didn't have to drive it. I've had 3 AS cabs, but my current one is seal. I love that color. Black is the best color, but only for garage queens. It's heartbreaking if you want to treat it like a car. If you think you may want to sell soon, pick black or AS if you want the best resale value. However, the best advice anyone here can give you is see all the colors in the flesh and pick the one you like best.

POST 12Original post

Added attention... Gets old very quickly, go for what gets YOUR attention and don't worry about theirs. And if you have a significant other, and the significant other is of the female gender, then give her 70% of the vote, you'll be much happier for it, believe me. The real JOY of a 911 is in the driving, not the looking.

POST 13Original post

Speed Yellow is a stunning color on the C4S or TT, especiallly with SY seat belts and deviating stiching on black leather. I have a GR C4S that I bought from the showroom floor. I might have ordered SY and have looked at a used TT in SY. Of course, SY and GR are highly visible, so be especially careful, as it is well documented that P-cars are singled out by traffic enforcment officers. Also, they can be construed as the "look at me" color, so may be a bit much for some. AS is the "safe" color and it highlights the C4S and TT bodies quite well. With about 25% of Porsche production in AS, they do well in the after market. AS is the classic color and can be ordered with the usual interior appointments, such as GR seat belts, black leather with deviating stiching in GR, AS, aluminum gauge faces, etc. Be sure to consider a painted rear center console, whatever color you get. It would be hard to go wrong with any Porsche exterior color. Go with your heart on color.
