Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Would appreciate learning anyone's experience with Fabspeed or other after non-stock headers and airboxes on an '02 996, including before and after dyno tests. Also, does installation void factory warranty? I realize that the warranty question is one for the dealer, but have gotten different indications from area dealers, so wonder what broader experience is.

POST 2Original post

The warranty legally must remain in effect under federal law. This will not incldue the headers them selves. The part must be for the same purpose as the part it is replacing (superchargers are a problem). Expect a battle though... I went through this with Dodge. Was tough to argue that the 400+ hp at the rear wheels of my Dakota R/T was not causing the damage to the tranny. Even if the tranny was VERY poorly designed.

POST 3Original post

Hi Guys.....on the 996 & GT3 cars replacing the headers or mufflers complies 100% with factory emissions and warranty. This is because the headers and mufflers are independent from the catalytic converters. FYI-each and every 996 manufactured worldwide have 4 parts to the exhaust system that are bolted together. 1st the headers...bolted to the catalytic converters.......bolted to the final mufflers....finally the mufflers are bolted to the tips.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
