Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well after 30 years of dreaming I finally picked up a new 996 C2 last week. I owned a new 924 about 20 years ago that I enjoyed but this is obviously in a totally different class. My wife keeps saying she has never seen me so happy. Here's the list for the car, any comments or suggestions are welcome. I've spent a lot of time going through the discussions posted and you guys are great! What a wealth of knowledge, thanks for sharing and I'll look forward to participating.
2002 996 C2
Seal Grey
Black Full leather (supple front/rear)
Advanced Technic package
Self-dim mirror & rain sensor
Heated/Power front seats
18" Carrera Wheels
PSM
Sports Exhaust system (love that rumble!)
I have a couple of pics that I'll try and stick somewhere in the next couple of days.
Drive on!
Jim
Did the advanced technic package unclude bi-xenon lights? If not be nice to add later. Sounds like a great car indeed. Anyway if it's Porsche-it's A ok with me : ). Congrats. Mike
Thanks for the nice message, yes the technic package did include the upgraded lights. Here's a link to a pic, my apologies for the size I need to make it a bit smaller.

Congratulations! I have a 2000 C2 6-speed and love it. I've recently test driven my friends' E46 M3 and SLK32 AMG and can say that the 911 is much more enjoyable to drive. Despite having similar numbers on paper, the 911 feels faster, sounds better, and is a blast to take around corners. The shifter is perfect.
Jim,
Congratulations on your fine, fun purchase. I have essentially ordered the same vehicle in the Cabriolet body form as follows:
2002 Carrera Cabriolet

Delete Cabriolet Hardtop
Black Mats - Porsche Lettering
Comfort Package
Advanced Technic Package
Self-Dim Mirrors & Rain Sensor
Heated Front Seats Package
Gear Shift & Brake Handle in Leather & Aluminum
I will be adding the following:
Becker Traffic Pro NAV Radio
B+M Short Shifter Linkage
Stainless Door Sills

contemplating p-sport exhaust or other
Wheel caps w/colored Porsche crest
Garage/gate opener integrated into dash switches
Happy motoring,
Richard
