Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I had a beautiful C4S on order and had to cancell it about 2 months ago because of personal reasons (going through an ugly divorce that has my money tied up...legal fees so far are $200K and still going). Sorry I had to share that but it's reaaly depressing. Anyway, I cancelled the C4S and decided to put some money into my '99 C2. After doing all the research and spending a lot of time reading this forum, I am feeling pretty good about the decision. You guys have inspired me to take the time and get personal with my car rather than just dish out $86K to drive a new car off the lot. Here are some things I feel good about : - My '99 996 is 300 lbs lighter that the 2002 C4S - It should handle just as well (if not better) than the C4S with the new H&R coilovers and the 285/30s in the back - The Fabspeed performance package will get me close to the 320 HP mark. - With 320 HP and 300lbs lighter I should be about 3/10s faster to 60mph, - I will save over $30K keeping my '99 C2 and fixing it up. Don't get me wrong, the C4S is a beautiful car that I still sometimes long for but anyone out there with an early 996 should put a little money into the car and enjoy it. I know this sounds kind of emotional but this forum has helped me make a good thing out of a disappointment in my life. Thanks. <img src="graemlins/bigok.gif" border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" />

POST 2Original post

I am sorry for the misfortune's that's going on with you and hope everything gets better soon. Don't get too down cancelling order for the C4S and still keeping your '99 996. It isn't like your stepping down to anything unless you had to sell the '99 996 and settle for a hyundai : ). And you never know- if you like RWD vs AWD(C2S may be produced-I'm hoping) and the likelihood of increase in power it maybe just what's in line for you later : ). Take care and good luck!!! Regards. Mike

So Dima, you can't go wrong with yours! hope this help!

POST 4Original post

Dima, Sorry about the divorce thing. It is a bitter and ugly beast that has assaulted many of my closest friends--I wish it on no one. Nonetheless, rejoice in the fact that you have your 996 and I, alas, am still awaiting my first Porsche (C4S June build). Best of luck in your future! Talk to you on the boards again soon!

POST 5Original post

Dima, Keep your head up man! I am sure it sucks and I can speak for anyone since I am about to get married myself. But, life is good and we have ups and downs. Go with my approach in life. "It isnt how you feel! It is how you deal!" Good luck

POST 7Original post

Dima, don't apologise for sharing your thoughts during these dificult times - a problem shared is one solved. Back to the 996 issue - well, you have the chance to truly shape it to your desire. Should turn out to be a good one.
