Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have noticed this '99 cab on sale for the last couple months at a Benz dealer down in LA. Here is the link http://www.mbencino.com/used/Porsche...6441adc8c0.htm . It's also on Ebay. Looks like a reasonable price for a nice looking car. I do not know about service records or anything. Curious if anything jumps out at you (good or bad)? Thanks.

POST 2Original post

i like the low miles, and also the wheels. a good price too.

POST 3Original post

Looks ok, wheels just look kinda wrong on a 996 but thats personal taste. Had the hardtop, thats nice.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It's interesting that you both mention the wheels (one good and one bad). The first picture below is a picture of the wheels from the car I posted. Second picture is another car I like the wheels on. Curious, is it is to get the wheels painted? That is, if I were to buy car 1 and get the wheels painted black might it look ok? Or can only some wheels be painted? I realize it's a personal taste on the all black but I like it. [IMG] [/IMG] [IMG] [/IMG]

POST 5Original post

I bought my 2001 Cab there... They are used cars guys and know nothing about Porsche... Mine was a 33,900 ask.... reduced to 26,900 ask and I paid 20,000..... I had to FIGHT for it to go to PPI but it did go to my normal guys at TRE who blessed it... There PPI is very good..... I like the wheels and would be happy to trade out my FACTORY chrome 18's turbo twist... Mark

POST 7Original post

I really like the headlight trim pieces. gives it back that 911 look. Where can I get a set of those?

POST 8Original post

I have seen several good looking ads on Craigslist in the Sacramento area. These would be easier for you to drive by and see. They all are in the same price range. @Shark Attack: Maybe those headlights have painted the inside of the headlight cover?

POST 9Original post

its missing a lugnut ? (maybe the locks) the headlight trim looks bad with the amber its looks like a 4x4 the wheels look like a 993... are they 16" tires no door speakers? whats that antenna in the back? stereo looks kinda hacked in the cigarette lighter is not turned straight whats all that stuff on top of the cabin air filter cover whats with the spare tire cover and the paint looks swirled from a buffer $24k? there are better cars for that money - BUT if you like it.... buy it.... just get the price down to about $20 IMO sorry I am grumpy....

POST 10Original post

worth going to look at atleast. .. that price is only the "asking" you never know.

A) Great catches, Seems like a low spec car without even the HiFi stereo.. B) Remind me NOT to pick on Grumpy Ed tonight!

POST 12Original post

Yea, But the brake rotors look HUGE with those tiny wheels

POST 13Original post

Thay cant be 16" , can they? you cant get a 16" over 996 brakes

POST 14Original post

I thought you knew me better than that - I can get them to fit

POST 15Original post

Quotes source post: 7224175

Thats right, you are indeed the McGiver of the 996 world

POST 16Original post

Why would the previous owner downgrade the wheels like that? Maybe the previous owner flared a bit too early on landing?
