Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

 • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The ones they refer to in the shop manuels? Or equivalents? I need to remove the rear view mirror and am afraid to break something or scratch it.

POST 2Original post

You can use any vise-grips or channel locks pliers with a protective cover. I used a towel, but rubber would work best. You can get the tools at your dealer's parts department, or you can find some of them at Sears or a hardware store. You just need to know what you are looking for.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Mind giving me a little detail in how to take it off step by step so I don't screw anythiung up?TIA

POST 4Original post

There's nothing to it. Once you have protected your pliers so they won't scratch anything, just clamp on and rotate 90 degrees to remove. The mirror will just twist and pop off. Just go slow and don't force anything. It will have some tension, but you shouldn't need to really crank it or anything
