If you can't find a way to disconnect maybe you can run a solenoid switch in line so that you can turn them off when you wish. Then when you turned the car off, the system would go back to DRL when you start it the next time. I think that's how the rear window defroster works in cheap American cars (GM, Ford), since you can never get them to stay on when you turn off the car. Then you'd at least have the choice. There are usually some blank switch plate somewhere on the dash.

The DRL relay in my canadian origin 99 failed and I probably wouldn't have repalced it except it caused me to lose the high beams too.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
