Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I had one made locally for my 996 and used it at Thunderhill last month and it worked great.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

For those of you that track your car, I've got a new product that provides protection for the hood paint. It's called Track Skin and it enables you to take your shinny 911 out on the track without collecting the inevitable chips and scratches. Made from flexible magnetic-sheet material, Track Skin covers the whole hood and is available in 18 colors. And it doesn't come off at speed. There's also a more discrete version for the street that covers just the front 16 inches of the hood (Street Skin). Currently available for '74-'94 911, Elephant Racing is expanding the Track Skin and Street Skin lines to include additional models. I'm in need of access to cars for measurment to produce the templates. In return for allowing the use of your car, you get a free Track Skin and Street Skin in your choice of standard colors (Red, Black, White, Silver, Yellow, Dark Blue). I'm in San Jose and you will need to bring your car here for the task. The cars I need are: - Early 911 (pre-1974) - 914 - 993 - 996 - Boxster Go ahead and post here. I will follow up. More information available at the Elephant Racing website.

I had one made locally for my 996 and used it at Thunderhill last month and it worked great. Speed tested to 140 mph. For a black car I would recommend waxing the hood before installation and after removing wash and wax again. Great Minds Think Alike
