Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

With the complexities of the 996 computer, I sometimes wonder if the Charge-O-Mat was designed for Porsche use exclusively.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

How long is a battery supposed to last with the Charge-O-Mat? Can other cars use this device? Some stores sell a battery maintainer that appear to work in the same way as the Charge-O-Mat. Are these any different? With the complexities of the 996 computer, I sometimes wonder if the Charge-O-Mat was designed for Porsche use exclusively.

Thanks, Gert. I knew I'd get some good answers from you! I've had the same battery since 1998, and I'm still waiting for it to go bad. The RoW M030 has been great. All the squeaks are gone. The only noise I hear are from the frame of the car flexing. I'll try the set-up in April in one of my DE events. Again, thanks! And Happy Easter, if it applies to you. <img src="graemlins/wave.gif" border="0" alt="[byebye]" />
