Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've done a few searches but have not seen a "list" of what a new owner could do to increse power a little bit. I understand that the Fabspeed box is something that could help. I have a Viper and smooth tubes and K&N cone filters did wonders. What in your opinion is the best bang for the buck? I'm looking for .5 in the 1/4 with bolt on's. I have a Remus "Romulus" series exhaust just from the mufflers back. Thanks.

POST 2Original post

Remove the back seats. Remove some of the electrics. Do you really need that rear wiper? Change wheels to lighter ones. Hee, Hee Oh, and reduce the driver weight

POST 3Original post

Actually, if you just remove that Remus exhaust and go back to stock, you might very well re-gain that bit of bottom-end you lost with it. Cat-back exhaust systems are worthless and only make noises. Some actually sound worse than others. Otherwise, I'm with Bins here. Remove whatever you can to lighten the weight of the car.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

If it were strictly a track car, yes. In the past I've found that 200 lbs per .10 isn't worth ripping the vehicle apart. I don't think my renters would be too happy looking at a big void where the rear seats used to be either......

POST 5Original post

I'm installing the Fabspeed Airbox mods with B&M filter next week. Will let you know my impressions. As for other mods, unless your really "track happy", the performance gain will not be that noticable in daily driving. I've found the largest performance gains to be in upgraded tires and wheels combined with improved driver technique. Other than the sound of a more open header/exhaust system, I don't see the value for day to day street driving. <img src="graemlins/drink.gif" border="0" alt="[cherrsagai]" />

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I would be interested in hearing the results from your airbox mod. I've done a search and it sounds like, for the $ anyway, it's something everyone should do. One question, I understand that you take out some type of restrictor and replace it with a sealing ring, has anyone done this without buying the fabspeed box?
