Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that contain suggestions
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
It is usual and customary for Newbies to introduce themselves, which you have done (check) and to post pics of their car, which you have not done (black mark).
Leading evidence: 'Check )' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check )' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Now, didn't we set a new standard around here that actually requires you to post photos before you even purchase the car?

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi All,
I am now the proud owner of an 2004 Targa. Childhood dream come true.
Car has 9700 miles on it and looks brand new! The more I drive it the more I like it.
Any advise welcome.

Welcome to the Porsche world and Rennlist! You will learn much here, but there is a gentleman named Tim who will start you off with a first piece of advice.
Another new rennlister with a Targa. Congratulations! I have to get me one of those.
Where is that Tim? Paging Dr. Tim, Dr. Tim please pick up the house phone your patient is waiting...
Way to go and Welcome....
I cant tell if I like the color combo or not
Tim, yur on.....
Newbie, when Tim "gotta911" chimes in pay special attention to the title below his name (just above the picture of his beautiful Lapis blue 996) All the above comments will make sense
Welcome "home". At least I hope it will feel like that to you after a while. It does for me. You asked for a tip and the folks are giving it - they are begging for some photos and some details (colors, "stuff", options). What you have done is said, "H! New here. Just hooked up with a stunning beauty. Any help out there?" LOL They aren't doubting you. They are crying for you to share more details about your car and pictures here are a MUST. LOL!
Tim will be along shortly.
Welcome from another fairly new '04 Targa owner.
Here, you may need to borrow one of these (of course, it will help if your Targa happens to be Seal Gray).
Photos for loan...
Good luck with dodging the flack about not posting pics.

<ahem> Tim clears his throat!
RockSS,
Welcome to Rennlist and Congrats on getting a nice looking '04 Targa. I just love the Guards Red... or is it Arctic Silver.... or maybe Black. Hell, we can't tell if it is nice looking or not because you didn't post any pics of your car.
It is usual and customary for Newbies to introduce themselves, which you have done (check) and to post pics of their car, which you have not done (black mark). So consider this next statement as your "Newbie Initiation."
Come on Newbie, post the !@#$%^&* pics!
Guys, I've been waiting two weeks to say that!
Seriously, Congrats and Welcome to Rennlist! As you can tell, we love pics!
Welcome and enjoy the new targa. You'll love it.
Now, didn't we set a new standard around here that actually requires you to post photos before you even purchase the car? Change the amber markers
before
you even get it home??? Of course, we don't know if this targa has ambers or clears...
While we're all waiting for the new members photo to arrive...
Here's one I took last night.
So the kid wanted a photo with my 'toy' as she calls it and while we're out there some punk driving by in his Civic almost runs into her Mazda (background) while looking at my car! I started laughing until I remembered it would have been the third time I would have had to fix it, so that wiped the smirk off my face.
Thanks for the welcome and Yes, I need to post pictures. I will as soon as possible. It has been raining and dark out so I put off taking pictures but I will today when I get back home.
Sorry for not posting pictures, I knew I was going to get flak for that...
Tony
Dude, trust me you do not want to see my drawings.
Yeah, man I am taking cover from the flak, OK, OK, I am taking pictures tonight...
Good things come to those who wait...
Tony
Good one!
BTW - your avatar still sucks and you can tell Ed I said so!
Your avatar doesn't look like Ed's work...... because it wasn't colored using crayons!
Yea, my co-workers say very much the same thing....
"He's a little wierd, but he's alright" I like to have fun and most of the time I poke at myself. That saves me from hurting other people's feeling by saying studid things that get taken wrong....funny thing about my work, the "shop" is the "hangout" and everyone makes trips down just to blow off steam, here some funny stories, or just chat about life in general.... I like that part of my job (except for the whiners!) LMAO!!
Okay - it's 10:10am - 15 hours after your last post. I'm starting to lose hope. Tim, what do we do in these cases? Is there a RL therapist on call or something?

Just for that I'm keeping it forever!! Or at least until Ed sells his car...
OK, I took pictures and when I get to work I find that I did not bring the camara connector to my computer.
Sorry, but I really, really do have a P-car.
Please have mercy on this poor misguided novice...
