Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Found a 2002, RMS, IMS, Tires, Shocks, Brakes, clean car fax, good PPI 60000 miles 26000.00
Unfortunately, getting rid of my 928 that I never use. Hate to see the car that got me started on Porsches no longer in my possession. Too many cars now, 5 total, so one had to go.
The 2002 is silver a regular 996, something for the wife and I to cruise in without her yelling. She hates the 928, too old, she hates the 951 too fast and solid suspension. So I figured the 996 would be fine.
Any thoughts. Oh, and this one is not being modified at all.
Good luck with the car. The '02 is a nice combination of the newer 3.6 without MOST -- so upgrades are easier if you want. Seems like most of the big things are done....and should have a recent clutch if they did the IMS.

please explain "most"
Thanks
Will
You found a good car. Wife likes it. What do you need a smack up the side of your head?
Either go buy the car or let someone else know where it is.
Too bad about the 928, though. Can't see how 5 cars is too many cars unless one's not a Porsche.
MOST is an acronyn for pain in the butt first year fiber optic buss for the stereo system. If you are happy with the system and you have one that works then no problem. If you want to up grade or add features it is tougher.
With the PPI did they pull the spark plugs and borescope the cylinders walls. I would to this on especially on bank 2 for any 3.4, 3.6, 3.8 m96/m97 engine.
Good luck, I'm sure you will love the 996, although I'm not so sure about your wife. My wife loved driving her Boxster when her DD was a Jeep GC. Now that her DD is a Lexus she has driven the Boxster about 1k miles in the last 2 years. I don't think women relate to the way a car feels in regards to handling, steering, mechanicals the same as most men. I find her Lexus RX400h among the most uncomfortable cars I've ever driven. In spite of the all the adjustables I can't find a comfortable position on anything. I understand everything on the car was designed for a woman. My DD Jeep fits me pefrect.
Ummm..the 911 will be faster than the 951, unless you've done a LOT to it, though the ride will be better, of course. Love mine, especially after I installed the PSS9s. The difference in comfort and handling between stock and the Bilsteins can not be over stated. Freaking amazing.
Good Luck, your wife ought to love it! How long had you been looking for one, for 26k did you get it from a private dealer? As you can see in my sig. I would like to get a 993 or 964 Turbo (but like you, need to make room for it) also I just DREAD having to go thru the trying to sale dilemma! Lol!
I have a silver 2002 - great car all around. You say you won't mod it.....but you will. A good set of coilovers and some bigger sway bars turn these really good cars into great cars. The wife won't notice...
Oh yeah - 2003 was the first year for MOST. The 2002 is good old fashioned copper wires. Actually the stock stereo suck (BOSE is a worthwhile option) but upgrading is easy in the 2002 - because it's not MOST.
First, there are not very many cars that are faster then my 951 402RWHP with every suspension upgrade I cound do. The car actually catapults off the ground from 1-2 gear. I have detuned it down to 14-15lbs of boost just to keep it calm on the street. The car was nicknamed the Hulk for a reason.
Yes, there is a new clutch as well. I was looking for a slower more managable vehicle that the wife could stay in. She is disabled and knocking her around in a car is detrimental to her back. So no mods and just easy going for us. Thanks for all the feed back, greatly appreciated..
I hear yah. On the track the are a few Turbos that amaze me that they are quicker but not by that much. They are stripped out and have some extra tunning but I don't know if there running as much as your does. Though stock and with an interior they are not as fast.
Fast is not the word for the 951. The car actually scared a 911 guy and when he got out all he could say was I am a believer now. He turned white and I was afread he was going to faint. this was from a 930 owner
good luck you wont be sorry!...the mk2 facelift is the nicer of the 996s... a few suspension mods and a few other tid bits and well you know what happens....lol,porsche fever!
I accepted the car yesterday and on the down side, got rid of the 928. Sad/happy day. 928 was featured in the June 2007 panorama, check it out.
Car is beautiful and everything I hoped for. Wife and I went out for a ride and she liked as well. Off to changing the avatar.
wait a minute......
I just saw this - looks like "relationship advice" to me
let's keep it technical
OP - pull the trigger - unless you are sinking a boat
wow a simple going to buy thread turned into anything but what it is about. maybe way too much free time for some folks. To the most, thanks and I love the car and so does my
disabled wife
