Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

18 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Used this forum many times so I wanted to say hello and thanks for the info. Been an air cooled guy all my adult life and finally made the jump to a 2003 996 4S with 38k on the clock. After doing the PSE mode I must say, I am loving this car.

POST 2Original post

Nice dude. obviously you've learned quickly that new car = picture first lol here are some helpful tips. 1) drive it like you stole 2) dont granny shift - its bad for the car 3) dont talk about oil on the forum lol 4) if you need a great indy porsche mechanic, he's located in Pasadena (its the guy who did my PPI and did all of my work so far, oil changes, tranny fluid, belts, etc). he has great prices and I like him so much that I want to spread the word. no affiliation. Peter at Stuttcar [phone removed] 5) more pics!! i'd recommend getting some tints - they look really good on our cars. also have a guy for that located closer to you near topanga mall. no affiliation either he's just done the past 3 sport cars i've had. PM me for his number. if you have the factory PSE, you'll notice from about 28mph-39mph it will automatically cut off and you'll lose the great music i mean sound. the fix is REALLY simple. I know jack about cars/tools/mechanics, but it's a really simple DIY project that takes about 15 minutes. see link here (it was so easy i took pictures and made a step by step tutorial). https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...with-pics.html ENJOY THE CAR DUDE!!! NO GARAGE QUEENS ALLOWED!!!

POST 5Original post

Looks like you got a very nice C4S. Can you post more pics?

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys for the worm welcome!!! I was given more than one warning not to baby or lag this car...someone even said "low rpm harmonics" can tare it apart especially the IMS thingy... Few more pics of the car and my PSE mod I did on Monday...I am also experimenting with the "orange cap" to see if I can get more guttural sound. My previous P-car was a 1974 911 with a euro 3.0 / webers, so the sound was incredible!!!!!

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sorry...I am having pic download issues and will take more photos this weekend. Richard

Nice looking car. Good luck with it. It's not That different from your '74. You wouldn't have lugged it either. More power, but also more balanced handling. Hope you enjoy it.

POST 10Original post

Nothing beats a nice C4S. Great looking car. I have the PSE mod too. The air box mod will also help with sound and perf.

POST 11Original post

Beautiful Porsche Richard, welcome to Rennlist, and thanks for the pics. The muffler mod will only make you smile now that your 4S sounds the way it should.
